Are you suggesting they should have just battered it with truncheons?

As demonstrated by shooting a cow. Tossers. Obviously from Derrick Bird's herd.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2019 2:49 pmIn Carlisle?!?!?!?! Joking aside, when one of our cows got out the remedy was quite simple. One of us would go out in the Land Rover with the horse box on the back and bring the fecking thing back.

Far too sensible a solution. They probably need the target practice, or the Cumbrian police have outsourced to some Safari Hunting company which has decided sheep are too dangerous to stalk these days...Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2019 4:32 pmJoking aside, when one of our cows got out the remedy was quite simple. Re: News stories that make you think, or not...
I have just looked at the source newspaper story. A female cow; who'd have thought it? Armed police shot dead the stray animal also sounds odd, does it not? Given the (rather dubious) reporting seems to indicate that the animal was calm and merely grazing on whatever was available to it.
To kill the poor thing just because it took off for a bit of a walk sounds odd. I know only too well that many cows are slaughtered each day to provide red meat to us humans, but to do the same to what might well have been a good milker makes no sense.
Cheers,
Farmer Brown's good friend.

Blimey, we had an escaped pig in the village next to ours this week and no one batted an eyelid. Let alone called out the police.

Police are saying it jumped the Tube barriers and ran.
