Favourite types of cheese!!? I know a few of you are connoisseurs on here. Me, I’m a girl of simple tastes, (no comments please!) So my top 5 would be fairly mainstream

1. Brie
2. Emmental
3. Mozzarella (melted with ham on a sandwich 😋)
4. Camembert (again, hot with crusty bread to dip)
5. Jarlsberg

Hungry now!

Good category!

My current list would be;

1. Snowdonia Black Bomber (Mature Cheddar)
2. Port Salut
3. Belton Farm aged Red Leicester
4. Lidl Somerset Extra Mature Crunchy Cheddar
5. Parmesan

1-4 have to be eaten with a baguette. 5 - grated on spag bol or shaved over a salad.
Good choice. Have you tried their Pickle Power?

As for Parmesan it has to be proper aged stuff to be worthy.

I’ve only tried black bomber to date. I picked up a piece of their truffle flavoured cheddar for Bruce, but I didn’t fancy it.
Definitely try it. It's pure joy on an oatcake. I'm not one for truffles so have tried the truffle trove one. They also do a tomato vodka chutney that goes well with the black bomber. For chutneys the Arran apple and hot beetroot are very good with a bit of cheese or a sarnie.
Cheers. I’ll give it a go on the strength of your recommendation. On the condition you send me a replacement cheese from your shop if I don’t like it. 😉

Any list omitting a high quality cheddar is without merit in my book :P
Meh. Only place cheddar belongs is grated over pasta or in a cheese toastie otherwise there’s far more interesting cheeses around.
You obviously haven't tried much in the way of proper cheese then. Not the stuff you get in a typical supermarket. Given how long the post takes here, wait until we're back to winter and I'll send you some proper cheese. I stock around 150 cheeses, of which Cathedral City etc is only a tiny proportion of them :D

Woah! If you’re offering samples! 😉

I introduced GG to Black Bomber. Not sure she enjoyed it as much as Mr GG did.

In return, GG introduced me to baguette and cheese. I’d always been a cracker person before, as I’m not particularly into Camembert etc. I’m addicted now, as is Miss BP.
Back off BP! He’s just offering it to his favourite forum members! 8) (Feels sorry for me being an Arsenal fan after the traumatic week we’ve had...)

Can’t believe you’ve lived half a century and never had baguette with cheese. Have you never been to France?!

Oi you! Nobody is supposed to know my age. 🤫 I know though. Why did I wait so long? Had bread and cheese in France donkeys ago, but not impressive enough to get me hooked.

Most of them. I don't like blue cheeses, so haven't tried them. As a matter of policy I try to try most things in the shop for quality control purposes  We stock over 8,000 lines (nearly triple the number Aldi/Lidl stock), so it's tough going...plus some items are shall we say orientated to you ladies, so I steer clear :D

Bought some almond flavoured cheese in a Spanish bodega one year after tasting it with wine. Funnily enough when we got home it didn't bring back a breath of Spain as I expected, It was just...cheese.

I do like Asda's Cheddar with pickled onion though, that's tasty. :)

Cheeses, one of the few things in life where I reckon it's almost always worth paying more for the good stuff:

1) Wet, moist Roquefort. The king.
2) A good strong cheddar
3) Yarg
4) Brie
5) Mozzarella

Shading out a good Lancashire, though the supermarket stuff (all I can get here easily) is awful.

Sitcoms:

1) It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
2) Peep Show
3) Curb
4) The Office (UK, I've never got past the episodes they copied for the US one, which I couldn't stand, but everyone I trust says it's great once it stands on its own two feet)
5) Tough tough tough, but I'm going Pulling just about over Catastrophe because I love Sharon Horgan.

Special mentions for The Royle Family ("are you sure it wasn't a big piss, love?") and the most underrated sitcom of them all, Early Doors.

I'm going to throw out another category, best cover:

1) Landslide - Billy Corgan, all time great cover of an all time great song
2) Hurt - Johnny Cash
3) Bit marmite but I adore Chris Cornell's cover of Billie Jean
4) Mexrrissey - Estuvo Bien (Suedehead)
5) Where Did You Sleep Last Night - Nirvana

Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah obviously up there, as is Hendrix's All Along The Watchtower. Also love the Ramones' Needless And Pins. No-one has ever sounded and more New Yoik. And Frank Turner's cover of The Lemonheads' Outdoor Type (and the live video of him covering This Modern Leper by Frightened Rabbit which always gives me chills).

Guilty pleasure: Ben Howard - Call Me Maybe;

Disqualifying Nothing Compares 2 U as I don't think it counts as a cover.
In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

^ Well I'm glad Fleabag didn't warrant a mention :D

The US office is a great series to get into. For me it never quite hits the highs of the UK version but there are some great characters in it.

I don't know anything about Pulling and I've never even heard of catastrophe. Worth a go then? A couple of others that I couldn't get into my top 5 are Nighty night and Lead balloon. I'm just about to start a 2nd viewing of the former. There were moments in that first time around that gave huge, stop I can't breathe, proper belly laughs

1. Footy. Watching and playing
2. Fell running. Doing
3. Athletics. Watching
4 Boxing. Definitely watching
5. Not sure whether to opt for tennis, rugby or ice hockey, all of which were a decent watch but a long way behind the rest of my list.
Never quite understood why hitting someone is considered a ‘sport’, but then we could also debate snooker, darts, motor racing and show jumping as others in those are they/aren’t they categories. I suppose at least boxing you have to be very physically fit for!!
GG, you have no idea how physically fit formula 1 drivers have to be. They lose 5 pounds in an hour because of the heat, etc and the G-Forces they pull require tremendous resilience. I might classify snooker and darts as pastimes but..
