Re: Rugby Union 2022.
I'm off to Ireland-England shortly. Given results at the Reebok it's a good job I don't care about Rugby, as looks like a chastening double.

Re: Rugby Union 2022.
Wales got tonked by the Saffers...England got tonked by the Irish. Seriously problems for England. All is a long way from "happy camp"
Re: Rugby Union 2022.
I'm no expect but there's no way we're winning the world cup. Comfortably second best.
Cracking day out though. I'm 40% Guinness at this point.

Great news. England have managed to make a 1-1 away to Burton, not feel so bad...

Re: Rugby Union
Italy v England would have to be on TV this afternoon. Kick-off 2-15. Might catch it tonight on ITV Player?

Re: Rugby Union
An interesting first round. Ireland with a statement win in France. Hard to see past them for the winners.
A huge lead for Scotland just after HT, nearly delivered the largest turn round, but I think on reflection, they'll be happy with points away to Wales.
England's brave new dawn v Italy, very nearly delivered the Italian renaissance. Bigger tests to come, but would be tricky to see winners coming from this pairing. England could use a win next week to let us know whether it's "green shoots" or "emperors new clothes"

Re: Rugby Union
Quite a few faces missing just to confuse me. Thought we did okay but both France and Italy always hit us with fast wingers and I'll just have to wait and see.

Re: Rugby Union
Didn't see Smith, Farrell or Watson, but some I believe are injured. Ben Youngs...Tulliagi..? Vunipola has retired along with a few more. I'd read there were a lot of injuries. I missed seeing Courtney Lawes in there, but of course he's retired from international rugby now.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sun Feb 04, 2024 5:21 pmQuite a few retired after RWC Tango, who did you have in mind?TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Sun Feb 04, 2024 4:53 pmQuite a few faces missing just to confuse me. Re: Rugby Union
Marcus Smith short term injured. Tuilagi long tern injured I think. Watson been injured for a long while, having breakdowns as he tries to recover. Ben retired from internationals after RWC.
Farrell. Been absolutely hounded by England "fans" every time we get beat, it's his and Ben Youngs' fault. So he's not retired, but decided not to make himself available for Six Nations.

Re: Rugby Union
Just watched England under 20s beat Wales 28-7. Enjoyable game full of the sort of fizz and energy you'd expect from this age group. England well worthy of the win, although Wales defended like it was Rourke's Drift. Enjoyed it. Very good crowd despite the lousy weather.

Did you catch England v Wales Worthy? I had the match on pc and the rugby on T.V. Won't mention the score in case you haven't seen it yet.

Re: Rugby Union
I did Sir, but only this morning. We probably have the hardest three sides left to play, having nearly being short against the weakest two. Going to have to try and find some extra gears...TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 9:29 pmDid you catch England v Wales Worthy? I had the match on pc and the rugby on T.V. Re: Rugby Union
Not maybe looking forwards to this as much as I might in years gone by. Wouldn't be at all stunned if Scotland handed out a beating. Scots can certainly score tries and we can certainly let them in...England at the minute. Well you never can tell, so we have a chance, but I think comfortably underdogs going in.
