You would have caught me listening to this album on the Circle Line today on my Creative Zen (the iPod killer.) fecking awesome - and you're so right about the scream!FD wrote:Incredible album that one.David Lee's Hair wrote:
......and what a bloody great album it is.
I always forget just how much I enjoy it then I listen to it, and just think "wow", shame I was born 7 years after it's release
And that Townsend didn't really do with it what he wanted, imagine what it would have been like then!!
If I hear Baba O'Riley it puts me in a good mood for the entire day.
Won't get Fooled again has the best scream in music history as well
God's country! God's county!
God's town! God's team!!
How can we fail?
COME ON YOU WHITES!!

Reissue of Jimmy Eat World's "Bleed American" CD2, the fantastic new version of "Your House".
Also been listening to Glen Hansard's soundtrack to "Once"...incredible passionate vocals on there.
"I don't need to fight to prove I'm right"
Simple but I think one of my all time favourite lyrics. Just really...

Yup, to this day nothing gives my spine the old tingles like that scream. I often have Baba O'Riley wake me up on the old iHome (iPod dock/alarm clock) and I'm in a good mood all day.Zulus Thousand of em wrote:You would have caught me listening to this album on the Circle Line today on my Creative Zen (the iPod killer.) fecking awesome - and you're so right about the scream!

A night at the fair (youtube fair that is): Several versions of Scarborough Fair, sung and accoustic guitar, some versions of "She moved throught the fair", the auld Irish ghost story (and one of my all time favourites) Fairport Covention and a particularly haunting ( bad pun) effort by Rob Yates.

Made out by the music press to be something approaching a cure for cancer, but I was unimpressed when they were on Later wi Jools Holland. Is it a grower, or were they just wank on the night?hisroyalgingerness wrote:the last shadow puppets. pretty decent if you like the monkey's lyrical style, more of the same. with strings

well they're not ripping up the rock and roll songbook but a decent enough listen, no moreDave Sutton's barnet wrote:Made out by the music press to be something approaching a cure for cancer, but I was unimpressed when they were on Later wi Jools Holland. I was similarly unimpressed. (I thought the guy with the kora was the best thing all night.) I was even hugely disappointed with Portishead's dirge too - the album sounds a bit better though.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Made out by the music press to be something approaching a cure for cancer, but I was unimpressed when they were on Later wi Jools Holland.
