New Public Service Broadcasting
Marvelous, however at this point I'm wondering if writing songs to soundtrack sporting tournament montages is written into their contract.

I certainly like this one more than the last track (which came as a complete surprise). I was wondering which 'subject' they could pick next, so for them to choose 'dance' and then shift their music a little more in that direction accordingly, whilst retaining guitar riffs etc really works for me.KeyserSoze wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 2:19 pmNew Public Service Broadcasting

I actually think it's pretty brave of them and I like it, but I'd probably start to lose interest if they were to continue to head too far out in a 'dance/pop' direction though.

Yeah I'd agree in terms of which of the last two I like more. By contrast, I think I'm comfortable with them in the 'pop' genre as it is, they've crossed so many genres across their albums that I'm more than happy for them to go in their direction as I have faith in their ability to translate it well.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 4:31 pmI certainly like this one more than the last track (which came as a complete surprise). On terms of subjects, given the clear German influence in both styles and lyrics in the last two songs, I wonder if we're getting some cold war/berlin kinda vibe. Think I would quite like that.

Been listening a lot to a band called Dry Cleaning the last week or so. Spoken-word lyrics in the style of jarvis cocker with some nice indie guitar racket in the background. Can't make up my mind if I really like them or if I'm just owning myself at this point.

Currently delighting BP by singing along to heart hits of the 90’s radio whilst he drives to Wimbledon.

HMHB seem apt for that start-of-the-season, hesitant optimism.

Not normally a fan of Korean boy bands if I’m honest, but I really like the BTS collab with Coldplay. ‘Universe’. Very catchy!

I had to google who they were when I saw Coldplay had done a song with them! Rather it was just Coldplay and not half sung in Korean!Burnden Paddock wrote: ↑Fri Oct 01, 2021 9:29 pmGooner Girl wrote: ↑Wed Sep 29, 2021 11:31 pmNot normally a fan of Korean boy bands if I’m honest, but I really like the BTS collab with Coldplay. ‘Universe’. I'd be careful slagging them off on the internet as their fans are fecking lunatics

As part of the work playlist I've recently added songs featured in the Elder Scrolls video game series. Cracking stuff.

Re: What are you playing tonight?
Today’s kids teatime has been sponsored by me singing Bonnie Tyler’s ‘Total eclipse of the heart’, ‘Manic Monday’ by The Bangles and the Pet shop boys ‘Go west’ - which then led to me seeing if I could remember all the lyrics to ‘Hot stuff’, Arsenal and Donna Summers ‘98 Cup final song (I can ) The kids were very appreciative.
Whatever happened to Cup Final songs? Not been one for ages! The world is missing out on top quality lyrical genius.
“Started out the season - Nothing stopped us
Everything was going Wright Wright Wright!
Walking in a Bergkamp Wonderland,
When Parlour was our Ray of light”
