Ahhh! You remember it! Were you there?
Anyway, in all seriousness, think it’s a bit sad the tradition of football songs appears to have died. I’m not even a huge England fan but if i hear “it’s coming home, it’s coming home” I'm transported back to my glorious mid teen years of 1996 and the legend that is David Seaman.

It's what the band played as the Titanic went down. It felt appropriate after last night's performance.Gooner Girl wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 11:23 pmAhhh! You remember it! Were you there?

Added bonus of wearing masks is that no one could hear or see me singing along to The La’s ‘There she goes’ in Uckfield Tesco’s this morning!

On Sunday, Paul Draper is playing an acoustic set at X-Records. If you're wondering who Paul Draper is, then the hand-written lyrics to this in my hallway will give you a clue. I'm taking my darling nephew to see him in March, and he is my darling nephew.

Mate recommended to me the Socially Distant Sports Bar, a podcast by a couple of Welsh comedians and an ex journo who also happens to be Welsh.
Started during lockdown as a keep-sane mechanism for all three, it's a real treat that uses random moments in sports/sport documentaries as a launching point for a number of topics. Sometimes funny, sometimes heartfelt, but most of the time it's very engaging. Well worth a listen on your next commute or wander.

Sad to hear Chris Rea is 71 now and an ill man needing extensive injection treatment daily. Always a favourite of mine in the past with Auberge, Road to Hell and You my Love. Time catches us all. Good luck Chris. I'll pray.

No, but I'll have a listen.
I've been listening to Nathaniel Ratecliffe and the Night Sweats. Blues/folk/soul with horns as well. Watching him in Leeds in may. I'll send you some stuff.

Been trying to play/listen to more new music to keep up with the kids. A lot of misses but the Weeknd's latest album Dawn FM is a banger.

Some songs stay with you forever even if they are, like this, a one hit wonder. A group called The Congregation is my version (*Paul Young also recorded this )Soft as it may be, this is a life-timer for me. Loved it ever since back in 1972. The group's lead singer was the former Plastic Penny vocalist, Brian Keith,
