If YOU Were FIFA President for the day........
.........and could implement ONE rule change, what would it be?
Mine would be that if someone brandishes an 'imaginary' yellow (ie. C.Ronaldo) they are immediately booked themself.

I think cards should be changed afterwards if there is clear video eveidence. If a red card offence is missed it should be applied later. If card is given because the ref was deceived by simulation it should be taken away and given to the simulator. That would be one way to cut some of the crap out.Batman wrote:.........and could implement ONE rule change, what would it be?

Have a video jury on all football matches. Anyone found guilty of blatant foul play, whether it be cheating or whatever, can be immediately suspended for the next game they should play in. Persistent offenders get two games etc. The managers would soon pull them into line when it started affecting results. Fining players is a joke with the money they are on. Force the clubs to get tough and be responsible for their own houses.

Would rescind Liverpool's backdoor entry into Europe. Then watch their faces.
Laugh at Everton's amazing run.
Ban Man Utd from ever playin in Europe again.
Teams entering Europe must field at least six "homegrown" players. Would guarentee investment in and retention of talent.
Order a shoot on site policy of any "pundit".

To turn the thread slighty, the main plus from this championship is that the players have generally not been giving grief to the officials. This is one of the things which has been copied into youth football and hopefully cards will be given the next time any premiership player launches into a four letter tirade directed at the officials.
The one major thing I would stop is assimilation. Although slight contact is being made these players are going to ground far too easily. The game is fast becoming a non-contact sport where players roll around on the floor feigning injury, when little contact has been made. If a player goes to ground in a tackle cards have been given out. This needs to be stamped (Sorry) from the game before we see it spreading throughout British football this coming season. However I have my doubts whether the officials have the ability to spot it.
