The Greatest EVER...........Video/console.PC game
Now there's an open market! What would you consider to be the greatest game of all time? Is it something retro? New?
Would it be a football management game? a football playing game? A platformer, an RPG, an adventure game, a racing sim or a strategy based game? Or would it be something you played on the spectrum simply because of the memories it give you of badly drawn pixels jerking around your TV, plus the added bonus of waiting three hours for it to load, only to find that you had it on the wrong volume and had to start again!!
So what has brought you hours of enjoyment in the world of make believe? I'm putting my geek hat on here and going for the Might and Magic games, Might and Magic VII to be precise.

It doesn't look like much and is very old, but I have always been a sucker for adventure games. The Final Fantasy games only missed out mind, with Final Fantasy 9 being my personal favourite.

Other favourites would include, the Resident Evil series, with four being the best so far:

Overall though the Might and Magic series wins through.
What would be yours?

My vote would go for a game released on the Dreamcast, called Shenmue. Not many people know about it, given that not many people owned a Dreamcast, but those who played it know it is one of the most underrated games ever.
I'm not even entirely sure why I liked it so much either, I was completely engrossed by it. Basically you control a Japanese bloke called Ryo, who has to track down his father's killer. But it's like controlling someones life, if you want you can take him down to the video arcade and play some games, shoot pool in the local bar, and even nip down to the local supermarket for a chocolate bar.
Can't be arsed finding a screenshot, but it's a brilliant game, despite the lame description there.
Otherwise, my vote would go to Final Fantasy 7, or perhaps the Pro Evo series...

san andreas was too bloomin' big! argh couldn't be arsed with it after a while, driving through a massive hick island for 1/2 hour on some dodgy van.
gta:3 was the best one by a mile
what??! too big?
anyway its not just a hick island
theres 3 completely different cities, deserts, forests, country side
dodgy van?! theres millions of cars, bikes, helicopters, planes, trucks etc etc
HOW CUD YOU POSSIBLY GET BORED?!!

I have played a hell of a lot of computer games but my favorites have always been RPGs and therefore the final fantasy series gets my vote with Final Fantasy X probably my favorite out of them, if not just for the sheer amount of effort and stupid number of hours that i put into the game. Second to that would be Pro evo, a game which has brought me much enjoyment in battering my friends time and time again, and then football manager.

I seriously loved that game especially as it was seen as a major break through it graphics (remember the 3D warp bit? WOW) There was another game very similar to it set in the jungle, but I'm buggered if I can remember the name of it!communistworkethic wrote:atic atac...
