Crap in the City?

Post by Zulus Thousand of em » Tue Sep 12, 2006 12:01 pm

Anyone concerned about our close season transfer activities need look no further than last night's game between Reading and Manchester City for consolation.

Did anyone see 30 year old Italian international Bernardo Corradi's performance for Citeh? Some players don't know the meaning of the word "fear". This guy doesn't know the meaning of the word "pace". What a donkey!

Add to that Micah Richard's meisterstrop on being substituted and Psycho's general look of bewilderment all evening and I think there's a long hard winter imminent in the Council House.

Sweet. 8)

God's town! God's team!!

A City fan remarked this morning that there is a lot of dead wood to be cleared out. Hilarious!

Including Hamman maybe?

Commentator on SS suggested that Citeh have European ambitions. Not even close with their strikers. Mind you, some of their young players - Richards and Miller - are built like the proverbial outhouse so it should be a good battle gainst them.

I watched it too, citeh are bad, apart from that Richards, i would not swap one of their players with any of ours. Nicky weaver's forth appearance in four years kept them in it. corradi was a donkey, so was samaras and dabo. sinclair and dickov look past it too.

Looks like Hamman is enjoying himself at City. The MEN summed up his performance at Wigan..

HAMANN: Won a couple of free kicks in first half but his contribution was negligible and he went off at the interval 4

Campo is god.

I watched their game on the box with a City fan and they were dire... Really dire...

Their defensive record has been their only saving grace this season but they were all over the place on Saturday.

Pearce looks under real pressure and the side he played was a strange one... Samaras as an orthadox left winger? Corradi (or 'corroded' as the City fan nicknamed him) was terrible as a lone striker.

Hamman looked lost in the midfield and was way off the pace. I still think he would have done a job for us; Pearce simply isn't getting the best out of him.

Who in their minds would sign Corradi? He was TERRIBLE at Valencia  No pace, no skill, no attitude... he's only a big tall oaf who can win headers... sometimes.

One of me best mate's is a City fan, so obviously I take a partial interest in them (good for ammo see?)

Basically, Saturday was an abomination... they looked dire in every area of the pitch... to the point I started to feel embarrassed!!!

Samaras, I think, has goals in him... but to continually play him out of position is asking for no end of trouble. I know they've got 9 players out... but by shitting hell... they'll need to put some big performances in or they're going down.

exactly, there was no rhyme or reason for what he was doing, even had Weaver been stood still on the line the header was still about 4 foot from him.

Normally I like Richard Dunne, but Jesus only knows what he was trying to achieve with that header.

As far playing Samaras wide left.... Just made no sense. Why buy a 6 million quid striker, who's your top scorer, and play him as a standard winger? He had other options; I'd have played Vassel there instead... At least he's played as a winger once or twice.

I felt sorry for Samaras. Apparently he scored for Greece recently and he looks a decent forward.

I can't see that they scouted Corradi before they bought him... He is terrible. City have seen his CV and took a gamble and it's not paid off. They should have given Cole the contract he wanted... He is badly missed.

It's a long way off worrying about relegation but the signs aren't good.

What's sadder/funnier still is that City are obviously trying to ape our style (Pearce said as much a while back didn't he).

He can see that playing a formation that can go from an attacking 4-3-3 to a shored up 4-5-1 has it's benefits... but only if you have the players. Samaras and Dickov aren't as versatile as Super Kev or Diouf... and they lack quality in the middle of the park... Joey Barton looked lively, but Hamman looked garbage. They need Distin back soon are they're fcuked.

I think we're all forgetting one fact here: City are a massive club.

No, no, no, no, no. This is terrible. We can't have Citeh getting a manager that knows his arse from his elbow. They want Souness, that's who they want, or maybe Tubbs O'leary. Yes, that's far more inkeeping with the club's traditions!
