Yes, he's had his contract terminated by SOUTHEND.

It's sad really, he could've been a Wanderers great. I'd still have him back, in a kind of Matt Jansen deal. Where we'll let our backroom team at him and if it doesn't work out get rid.

What is your source?

Its not showing anything on Southend's official site -

http://www.southendunited.premiumtv.co. ... 44,00.html

This is the last news I could find on him -

http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hli ... +admission -

Southend United striker Michael Ricketts feels it will be Christmas before he is able to play without any pain.

Ricketts has been hampered by an Achilles injury which has restricted his chances of making an impact at Roots Hall.

He joined from Leeds United in the summer, but only made his debut as a substitute against Cardiff City last weekend.

Southend local paper apparantly. I use a cross-club forum and the shrimpers on it posted as such.

The Guardians Rumour Mill says " Where's Michael Ricketts to fat for now?.

Looks like he ain't just greedy in the money department. He got to big for his boots
now his to big for his pant's, shirt & the bench.

Shame really, had he stayed with us it could have all worked out better for the lad.
If I should die, think only this of me:
That there's some corner of a foreign field
That is for ever England

Don't worry Michael, I'm sure you'll move to an even bigger club, with better facilities, the lot. I think my local team Kippax Welfare are after a fat lump to hoik balls to up front.

HA.

The guys a prat... It's a shame that cock has an England cap whereas other better Bolton players may never.

I hope he eats a bad pie and shits himself...

How are the mighty fallen and what satisfaction courses through my veins. The sonofabitch was pulled out of obscurity and has been consigned to said location. Rust in pieces. 8)

Isn't it funny how even now, it still gives satisfaction to see him being rejected.

Not just a shame on the England cap, but a shame he has a League Cup Winners medal

I don't get the hate.

Yes he was abit of a tit when he left. But i don't wish harm on the fella. He was the best top class goalscorer we've had in ages. Had he not been badly advised he could still be banging them in for us now.

He scored a shed load of goals and made us a healthy profit.

No satisfaction here. I have no ill feeling towards Ricketts at all. He was the best player in the world for a two month spell playing for us - those goals were absolutely crucial, and we made a very healthy profit on him.

Personally, I'd like to see him find some form for someone again.

For those two months in which he was electric, he was surely the best player in the world! :D
