musing over this whilst re-upholstering a chair today....

if you found your self in the kind of crazy mixed-up world where you could make this kind of a choice...

what would you choose:

1. For Bolton to beat Arsenal and Chelsea
2. For England to win the Ashes

At the moment, (proving that I am not a true fan!) - I think I'd take the Ashes win..

Ooooh - looks like I'm in a minority here!! I guess it's because I don't expect us to beat Arsenal and Chelsea - so losing to them won't be as a big a disappointment as losing the ashes would...

I'm sure some sane soul will be along shortly to agree with me??

(I don't expect to beat Arsenal - but, on the other hand, I wouldn't be surprised if we did...)

how mixed up am I??

Bolton

If we were mid table, no prospect of anything, then maybe I'd consider

football first
football second
football third

Mmm - but you made up your own option... no room for best-of-both-worlds-ism! which would you choose out of the two offered?

I'd go for Bolton... oh wait, hang on, I'll have to take the Ashes :wink2:

If you replace Bolton with Liverpool then I'd actually just give you a slap for even daring to pose such a question. In the league table of tournaments it goes thusly

Premiership / Champions League (equal footing)
UEFA Cup
FA Cup
League Cup
Charity Shield / Ashes (roughly equal footing)
FA Youth Cup

Ok Blurred. Would take Liverpool finishing in the top half of the Premiership this season, or the Ashes?

At the moment I don't think that we will beat Arsenal, so I'll go for the Ashes.

I must sound like Mr Doom and Gloom on these forums recently, Bolton are really starting to piss me off.

Touché. If the offer was guaranteed Champions League football or the Ashes it'd still be us coming 4th.

Footie (well, Liverpool) comes first, above everything. Apart from in the league this season, it would appear
