Sports Shield - New Owners (Probably)

Post by BWFC_Insane » Mon Feb 22, 2016 1:33 pm

Worth a thread this now.

Exclusive interview with Holdsworth in the Bolton News just now.

http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/wa ... ers_again/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
“It is a great day and I’m absolutely honoured to be a part of this club again,”

“More importantly it lets the people who have been at this club through thick and thin look forward to the future.

“I can’t put into words what a tough process this has been.

“We shouldn’t have been talking about saving a football club but to do it makes this a very special thing for us.”

Don't know about the rest of you but I'm pretty disappointed. Was kind of looking forward to being liquidated and starting up as a brand new Phoenix Club at the bottom of the leagues.

Would have been nice to see a few new grounds. And we might win a few down there.

I just can't see what they'll get out of it, apart from assets.

If we manage to survive the drop then it's a shrewd bit of business.

£7.5 million for a club is cheap as chips.

I suspect there will be a load of clauses that may see that figure increase.

It is cheap, which I why I didn't understand the backlash yesterday to reports about ED wanting a % of future revenues as part of the deal, which isn't all that uncommon in business.

Sports Shield - my considered opinion: I forsee hard times ahead as all the assets get mortgaged and the reality of how much it costs to run a football club hits them hard in their venture capitalist funded cajones, but at least they'll move a lot of the focus away from that clique of deluded, narcissistic, preening knobheads who masqueraded under the illusion of fan power who can now properly concentrate on signing up a membership and organising proper democratic elections.

Just trying to get my first conspiracy theory off the ground.

If anyone could photoshop Dean Holdsworth's face on to this that would be a start

Well I hope there's no connection between two of the top BN stories today:
Bolton Wanderers granted reprieve in High Court as takeover steps closer,
and
Machete-wielding ram-raiders steal £20,000 from Tesco superstore in Farnworth
which has this significant detail "The robbers were dressed in sportswear and flat caps..."

Aaaages ago. Just off the M60 exit. Even I know that and I haven't lived there for nearly 27 years!

In my mind that was still a fairground. God I've got a terrible memory.
