Re: The wonderful EU and Migration thread!
^^ you could have more time for Spain's argument about Gibraltar if they didn't have a more or less identical piece of Moroccan land at Cueta.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I believe a hell of a lot of Spaniards are employed on Gibraltar, if they get shirty the Spanish, maybe we should import some Bulgarians, Romanians and Poles in before we leave, just in case.TANGODANCER wrote:Gibraltar, there's another problem to be considered. The Gibralfarians are worried that Spain will get feisty about its borders if we leave the EU. It's a point....

Cameron.
Worried? The prime minister has admitted for the first time his “fear” Britain could sleepwalk out of the EU. He told the Independent on Sunday that the result of the 23 June referendum was now on a knife-edge and revealed his biggest concern was in persuading enough people to turn out to deny victory to the Brexit campaign.

Re: The wonderful EU and Migration thread!
As the media ramps up & the migrant issue regrow for 2016 and the EU 'solution' is the one which opens the zone to 75m Turks (& fck knows how many not-really Turks) I think you're right Worthy.
The referendum Pru said was pointless & that had no chance will, at the very least, be blooming close.

Let us face the facts here, Gentlemen. Britain will vote out of Europe.

Not according to Pru. Not in a million years. Then again he said we won't end up eleven points behind MK Dons...

And at maybe Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland will vote to stay in.Bruce Rioja wrote:Let us face the facts here, Gentlemen. Britain will vote out of Europe.
I'm pretty sure Scotland will. That will quickly precipitate a second In/Out referendum that will almost certainly result in an Out vote. So a vote for Out of Europe is likely to be also for a vote to break up the UK. Just thought I'd mention this in case there are others like Mr Farage who haven't joined the dots.

Nonsense. Panic fannies the lot of you. I keep saying this, but then it's true. You generally need a 10 point poll lead to win a referendum against the status quo. Last poll I saw, I think last weekend, using the referendum wording, had a TWELVE point lead for remain. It'll get ugly, and as it gets nearer the polls will get narrower, one a few days before will even have Brexit in front. Then the result will be to stay in by 8-10%.
In a world that has decided

Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

Re: The wonderful EU and Migration thread!

a plague on all your "I know what's gonna happen" houses!
(I reckon we'll still be in the EU in 48hrs - then summat crucial will happen...)

Re: The wonderful EU and Migration thread!
And I'd be happy to settle that debt if I am, Harry. Interestingly I had eight meetings with Dutch blokes the week before last, all of whom asked me at the end of our meeting which way I'd be voting. I turned the question round on all of them and asked them what they'd do if they were me. All of them said that if they had the chance then The Netherlands couldn't get out of Europe fast enough.Harry Genshaw wrote:That's a bold prediction. I'm still waiting for some erudite, balanced type such as Mervyn King to run through the pros and cons rather than listening to either Cameron or the 4uckwit Mayor of London.

^^^ which is very important. Many in that Europe have decided it's a busted flush. IF the UK exits (& I think it narrowly won't) there will be others who decide to have a look.
