Auto Renewal - Who Is and Who Isn't?
Something occurred to me last night - I've always had something of a soft spot for Burton Albion for no other reason than it's where I was born. Many a Boxing Day me, my mate and my Godsons would take in the regular Staffordshire epic between the Brewers and Tamworth. So I've been thinking about how weird it'll be to see us play them next season on an equal footing. It wasn't until last night that I realised that they'll actually be a division above us
So, a bit of a call to arms really. I perfectly understand anyone who can't be arsed shelling out £350 or so and pitching up every other week, but I guess that if our club has ever really needed us (The time of sale of half the Embankment not withstanding) I guess it'll be next season.
So, I'll go first, I'm going to let my ST auto renew.
Who's up for it?

Renewing mine.
Had a season ticket for 30 odd years now. Even when I lived away and couldn't make half the games. Not stopping now, even though it is testing!

Never had one. That's not going to change anytime soon.

See, I guess also because I pay for it on DD I never actually notice it. The thought of physically peeling the notes off and handing them over is something that I'd probably be less inclined to do regularly.CrazyHorse wrote:Never had one. That's not going to change anytime soon.

Afraid not. Had a season ticket for a decade from 1988 (when we dropped to the Fourth: we had it rough, but you try telling kids these days) to 1998. I kept one while I was at uni, as it was only a couple of hours away so I came back most fortnights, but dropped it when I moved 225 miles south to one of the world's most expensive cities.
I do miss it. But I understand why folk don't shell out hundreds on what has proven to be a defective product.

Yeah, I'll be there, but I had to think about it. Another couple of seasons and I'm a concession. Not missing that (touch wood).

I won't be - but then again I've pretty much always gone for pay on the day usually ends up more expensive...
Re: Auto Renewal - Who Is and Who Isn't?
I'm thinking of getting one again even though I gave it up a couple of seasons ago. What a dick eh?
I still go to most games anyway so it makes sense.

I will still be there what else am I going to do, jobs around the house, shopping with the missus, NO thanks! I have had one for as long as I can remember. It wont be no picnic though!!
Re: Auto Renewal - Who Is and Who Isn't?
Don't have a season ticket, haven't had one since 1986-87 when my Dad bought me one.
I go to the majority of games because my Pops 'works' for Lifeline and gets a free ticket as payment and it's good father/son time

Pfffft.
Re: Auto Renewal - Who Is and Who Isn't?
Toying with the idea. In a weird way I'm looking forward to next season (although it might wear off by September!) as it's new owners, new ideas?? hopefully some (most) of the 1st team squad will bugger off, fresh start....so maybe
Re: Auto Renewal - Who Is and Who Isn't?
Not had one for a few years now but I've taken my 7 year old to more than 50% of the home games this season. I am serious thinking of getting one for us both but the midweek games may finish a bit late for him. It was the only thing preventing me this season.

Any idea on prices yet?
I dont fancy going to any games and paying to see wasters like mark davies pick up £18k for no effort. I dont give a fck if we are winning if the lads put the effort in. But this crop..no way.

Re: Auto Renewal - Who Is and Who Isn't?
I haven't had once since 06/07. I prefer pay on the day because I'm not into staying in the same seat all season. Moreover, I also don't fancy going to every game.
A part of me is thinking I'll get one next season. Not because I'd like to see every game (I definitely don't), but more because I'd like to be in with a chance of getting away tickets for local derbies such as Bury and Rochdale before they sell out.
Plus, it's only money, right?

Re: Auto Renewal - Who Is and Who Isn't?
Not had one for the last 3 years and it definitely is harder to stump up £60 or so for us both to turn up on spec as opposed to the old direct debit. I'll definitely make more of an effort for the first few but after that my attendance will be solely dependent on whether I can get comps or not.

As long as there's no massive price hike, I'll be having one I think. I might as well now BP's put his prices up to cover his increased cardigan costs.

My DD for my Lifeline membership will remain uncancelled. It's as much as I can guarantee.
