Super to read how well he's doing, though of course very sad to hear of others not so fortunate. Bless them all.Annoyed Grunt wrote:He's doing well, better than expected. Makes you realize how lucky you are when other kids who had their transplants around the same time have passed away or are still in intensive care.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Yes, that's us.Burnden Paddock wrote:Good stuff AG. Is that your club that meets at the bus stop opposite the Ainsworth Arms on a Saturday morning?

It certainly stops you in your tracks a little and makes you realise how fortunate (given the circumstances) we are.bobo the clown wrote:Super to read how well he's doing, though of course very sad to hear of others not so fortunate. Drove past you all this morning and was going to stop, but thought it might be a bit odd asking 'Hi which one of you is AG? I'm BP from the internet....' By the way, do you have a white helmet? Super news - the long silence worried me a bit (but I didn't know what the milestones were). Good luck on the bike, Grunto.Worthy4England wrote:Good news Grunto. All going as well as it reads?

Aye. Good luck for today and brilliant to hear your son is doing so well.
I've been on the donor register for about 25 years. Only once have I come close to donating but in the end they found a better match.
I wouldn't think twice about it.
Hope to hear about your ride when you're done.

Brilliant AG. You should be very proud of yourself. Great to see that Freddie is doing so well too. What a long way you have all come in the last 8 months!
Re: TW Members. Introspection on an Epic scale.
Well done AG.
Do not trust atoms. They make up everything.
Re: TW Members. Introspection on an Epic scale.
Well done! Glad you made it round staying upright and avoided the worst of the hold ups. Guessing you were lucky enough to have an early start time like me? Sounded absolute chaos behind

Thanks.
7:38 start time. Had just passed Pyford drinks stop and hit it. Had about hour and half wait before we could carry on. Later starters diverted so didn't do full ride.

Day 365......1 year......Happy first Re-Birthday!
Exactly one year ago today, Freddie was having a life saving bone marrow transplant.
So far, everything is going well. We've had some set backs (mild Graft v Host Disease, coughs, colds) but other than that he's fine.....and he's still here.
With out the fantastic work of Anthony Nolan, the Bone Marrow Unit and Professor Rob Wynn it might have been a different story. Also, last but very much not least, to the mystery stranger who donated his stem cells to give Freddie a second chance at life. We have no idea who you are, hopefully one day we will. From me, Laura, Harry and Freddie we cannot thank you enough.
As you also know I took on Ride London 100 earlier in the year, raising funds for Anthony Nolan. I will be doing the same next year, to help them continue their lifesaving work. If you wish to/are able to donate then please do so - https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ ... anthwaite1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Thank you for all the support you have given us this past year with your messages, it means a hell of a lot.
