Now for a 2.5km swim. Adios!

Funny enough I did a 2km swim last night. Think I've mentioned before I get access to the site of the Olympic White Water Rafting Centre in Waltham Abbey. We swim in the gathering pool around a 250m course. I managed 8 laps last night in 49 minutes.

That would give me around 1hr 35.ins. For Ironman

I've barely done anything in six weeks due to a month long cold and then finding it hard to get back into it. Half an hour of football here and there and that's it. Decided to do a gentle easy 5k, 22:58. Only 15 seconds slower than my best on that run. I don't understand!

Also well done Gary. You're disgusting.

It's a humble brag actually.

Seriously though, it's it warmer temperatures, or is LLS right after all and training and warm-up are useless?!

Cheers Pru. I think there's more anecdotal and scientific evidence that training makes you faster. The difference between better and faster is, though, in your genes. In my opinion.

LLS is just a freak of nature.

Aye, but you owd bastards are still all faster than me, so that doesn't work!

I reckon it must be a combination of warmer temperatures (I'm shit in the cold, doc reckoned it's mild asthma) and the fact I was doing pretty well before meant it was quicker to get back to near there (couple of 5-a-side footballs). I like it, it means I can imagine a glorious potential that I know I'll never try hard enough to fail to achieve!

He'd not get in front of you in the queue for mushrooms!

Last long run today before next months Coniston marathon. 15 miles over Rivington and Belmont. Hard work in that heat and I struggled to get beyond a basic plod

Have just tweaked my left angle playing golf. It's not bad but it is beginning to swell a little, so no PR or cricket tomorrow.

I may be up for brekkers though if anyone's around.

Brekkers sounds like it could be a plan.

Aye. Couldn't make the run but be in the usual for 10 am?
