However much money it would take to move someone to 1/4, even if not thousands, is more than anyone would put on this market unless they had some kind of steer.BWFC_Insane wrote:He's about the 9th favourite so far. Suspect there is very little money on this market so a small bet changes the odds.
Which isn't to say he's got it, but there will be something in this at least.
I think it would get people excitied and for that reason I'm in (inb4 "so did Lennon and Coyle").

Re: Which muppet can we appoint next?
I think we need a manager who knows this league inside out and has a good record in this league. I don't think appointing Ryan Giggs would be a good idea as he's barely any managerial experience and just because you were a good player doesn't mean you'll become a good manager look at Teddy Sheringham. I wouldn't mind either Nigel Adkins or Steve Evans.
Re: Which muppet can we appoint next?
Are people honestly contemplating one of those scummy feck* managing Bolton? No thanks. However good he might be as a manager this place will have far too many of said scummy feck* coming on here patronisingly asking how their guy is getting on. feck off. No.

Perhaps Giggs is the 'potential coup' that was reported weeks ago ?
I would have absolutely no issue with Giggs, inexperienced yes - but the young players would look up to him, I would hope that the older players would want to play for Giggs & he would possibly attract better players to the club than some of the other names mentioned, and we could also get some decent loans from Utd.
I still can't see Giggs coming though....

Best over a few pints, or plates of food, Chief. He lived at the bottom of our lane. Some of the tales he told me, well, looking back I guess he just wanted to get stuff off his chest.Lord Kangana wrote:Ok, now you've got my attention.Bruce Rioja wrote:I'm getting John Prescott McGovern all over again. A truly lovely bloke (who I was fortunate enough to get to know), prodigal son of a genial manager, a superb player, highly decorated, but it ends there. Well, JM's Mrs was absolutely this 16 year-old wet boy's dream, so I doubt he was shagging her sister, if she has one.Athertonian wrote:Giggs, bloody Ryan Giggs. We need a manager who has been around not one who is a learner. If so it's a piss poor appointment.
Theres no way you can leave a story like this just there. There'll be kids on here who have no conception of a world where footballers counted ordinary people amongst their friends and acquaintances. Not for me you understand, for them.

Apparently, Giggs has been in Dubai for the past week, so either he was interviewed by Skype on Tuesday evening, or he hasn't even been interviewed yet if the BEN's info on the other 3 candidates was right. The plot thickens.

Re: Which muppet can we appoint next?
Ryan Giggs has managed 4 games in his life. None of which were in league 1.
He's a miserable bastard, a Welsh bastard and a rag bastard.
Still, let's sign him up because he's got a 50% win ratio, is well respected and is famous for not being Gary Megson.

The lad standing in for Iles reckons Thursday evening's interview "wasn't held anywhere near the NW", though he then concludes it can't have been Giggs - presumably unaware that Giggs isn't in the NW at present.Bijou Bob wrote:Apparently, Giggs has been in Dubai for the past week, so either he was interviewed by Skype on Tuesday evening, or he hasn't even been interviewed yet if the BEN's info on the other 3 candidates was right. (Slightly) off topic,I know! But if anyone fancies a little flutter today, lump on Mighty Whitey!!
In the 13.30 at Hexham!
Far more chance of that winning than Giggs being Master of the Macron!

I don't think Giggsy will get it in my opinion, he's been on holiday in Dubai in the past few weeks. I think out of everyone that's been linked with the job I think Brian McDermott will be our manager as straight after he got the sack from Reading he got a call from Anderson regarding it.

If anyone hears where Giggs is staying let me know and I'll arrange for him to go camping in the desert to make sure we don't get lumbered with him

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

Giggs has roughly the same amount of experience Kevin Nolan has.
Might as well give it to Kev if we're throwing it out to random players who haven't been a manager yet.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
