That's the important bit you dick! They're not going to impost tariffs so long as we accept free movement, EU regulations and pay our subs.Hoboh wrote:For those up late, undecided but frightened by Cameron/Osborne's tariff gloom:
I think this bloke and his organisation wields more clout than our bunch of 'experts' in relation to trade.Germany's leading industrialist yesterday dismissed warnings of a post-Brexit trade war, saying the EU would be ‘very, very foolish’ to impose tariffs on the UK.
David Cameron and George Osborne have repeatedly issued doom-laden warnings that British exporters will face a wall of tariffs if Britain leaves the EU, potentially costing jobs.
But Markus Kerber, head of the influential BDI which represents German industry, said that made no sense. Mr Kerber told the BBC’s World Service: ‘Imposing trade barriers, imposing protectionist measures between our two countries – or between the two political centres, the EU on the one hand and the UK on the other – would be a very, very foolish thing in the 21st Century.
‘The BDI would urge politicians on both sides to come up with a trade regime that enables us to uphold and maintain the levels of trade we have.’

Last polls:
All phone polls show remain in lead.
Most but not all online polls show leave in lead.
Bookies and polling analysts say remain based on final poll analysis.
I'm more interested in the result from a polling accuracy/methods angle than I am for anything else right now.

At the end of today can one of the mods lock this thread please? However, not before handing it the award for the most tedious, circuitous, repetitive and pointless thread of all time though.

That might make sense. Was probably earlier than that your time. Bruce, you seem to have wandered into the EU referendum thread. Pru's transfer thread is on the footy forum.

Re: Brexit or Britin
I'll set up a poll there. When it comes to Darren I'm very much vote leave.

Postal Ballot done - check
Proxy Vote sent - check
Actual "in person" vote done - check
Ferried the 23 Syrians staying at our gaff on a short term tenancy until 23rd Jun 2016 to vote - check
I have a good feeling about this.
Oh, forgot - our polling booth is in a pub. So I'll have to go back in 45 minutes. Think I left me specs.

I'm a voting agent tonight so I've just been to staples, bought a load of rubbers and hidden all the pens. It's going to be a landslide.

Re: Brexit or Britin
Polls seem to be showing a swing to remain, last ipsos-mori poll just published showed 4 point lead for remain, where previously was a 6 point lead for leave.
Bookies seem to be pretty sure it will be a remain vote.
However, the big question is whether the pollsters are once again using a flawed method???

Re: Brexit or Britin
Well, I'm heading down to the polling station (otherwise known as Bolton Cricket Club) this afternoon. In effect, it'll probably be just a waste of time because all I'm ( everybody) being asked is what my opinion is. It won't matter a damn one way or another and neither will the overall result of the polls. The government will do what it thinks regardless, and Cameron and a lack of confidence in his leadership seems to be the biggest reason anybody will bother voting at all.

That really is a very odd view. Nobody has said the government will do what it thinks regardless. This is a referendum not a polling of the populous to find the view. It is a decision point and the government could technically ignore the result either way but it is highly unlikely to do so.TANGODANCER wrote:Well, I'm heading down to the polling station (otherwise known as Bolton Cricket Club) this afternoon. I'd like to thank the PM for deciding to hold this referendum. If nothing else, it's given us the reprise of the Twitter hashtag #dogsatpollingstations
