Mighty impressive, beefy.Beefheart wrote:Didn't make it to the PR in the end. Lost my barcode and the printer was out of ink and then I fancied a lie in anyway but did a 12k run in the afternoon which went well after a pretty crap week of running. The humidity seems to be agitating my asthma. I have also now lost 4 1/2 stone since the start of the year.

Well done not so Beefy. Pretty miserable morning for it. Made my suntan run.Worthy4England wrote:Mighty impressive, beefy.Beefheart wrote:Didn't make it to the PR in the end. Re: The athletics/running thread
So what is it about the rain and me running this weekend? Pissed it down yesterday, pissed it down on me this afternoon. Bleeding nips stopped play at 2.5K - bright sunshine now,

Aye, I definitely don't regret waiting until it dried up a bit in the afternoonBruce Rioja wrote:Beefheart wrote:Didn't make it to the PR in the end. Did the PR yesterday in the pissing rain from beginning to end - nae fun. Going to have a trot round my local park this avvo (and no, I'm not the bloke that's been going around it with no strides on).

Bruce I run with a compression vest for the nips. Either that or you can use sticking plasters. Use the waterproof ones though as the fabric ones REALLY hurt when they come off.

Re: The athletics/running thread
Cheers buddy. Will do. I know it's easy to laugh at such things but the pain involved is quite disconcerting. It's never a problem unless I get wet (through rain, sweat or both).Gary the Enfield wrote:Bruce Rioja wrote:So what is it about the rain and me running this weekend? Re: The athletics/running thread
Thanks for the nip tip. I've tried plasters (fall off), vaseline, some special anti-friction cream. No success. I'll look into a compression vest.Gary the Enfield wrote:Bruce Rioja wrote:So what is it about the rain and me running this weekend? Pissed it down yesterday, pissed it down on me this afternoon. Umbro or under armour are two I use. Happy to help.
Re: The athletics/running thread
My mate had the same problem and forgot his plasters so bought surgical tape but couldn't get it off. Went to.the gym with him 5 days later and was most amused. He steamed it off in the steam room in the end.Beefheart wrote:Thanks for the nip tip. I've tried plasters (fall off), vaseline, some special anti-friction cream. No success. Re: The athletics/running thread
Nipple butchery is not good. I'm afraid I won't make bolton pr this weekend because I'm on a pissup in East Yorkshire but hope to see people at Ironman on Sunday.

Will do Bolton tomorrow if anyone's around but will have to skip brekkers. Will give you a call when I'm on my way back down from Keswick on Sunday, Dude, to see where you are. Can't get on one though.LeverEnd wrote:Nipple butchery is not good. I'll volunteer tomorrow, provided that I'm up in time. Nobody else around for brekkers?Bruce Rioja wrote:Will do Bolton tomorrow if anyone's around but will have to skip brekkers. I've booked Monday off work in preparation for the hangover from hell.
