Allardyces dream job...

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

Aha yes, that would be ace!

I mean we'd have to actually win the world cup, but who wouldn't want to see sun-tan prowling the touchline of a world cup semi against Brazil?!

Of course he would - the unmitigated disaster! :)

Apart from the slight mitigating factors of promotion to the premier league, a cracking tan, saving a woman from.suocide on the Humber bridge, a promotion playoff won with Southend and a near-professional singing voice.

What a guy!

Thanks for sharing Hoboh. Fantastic read and as you say, quite emotional in parts. Especially the bond the players had with us fans.

Feck it! Give them all a bell and see what they are doing in 3 weeks time ;)

Mr Potato Head being interviewed. Christ, if they went for him over Sam it'd kill him!

I think Bruce is alright, but he's just a good championship manager in reality.

If he got it over Sam, it'd just prove what an incompetent bunch of old fools are in charge of our national game

Bruce is a manager we should have gone for at various points. But how he is considered for England is beyond me.

I think Bruce is a good option for a Hull or a Bolton etc but that is his limit.

Yep. Good record at getting teams promoted, which s no mean feat, but keeping them there for sustained periods and building a team that steadily improves has never been something he's been good at at a decent level

Shame really. The lad will get the brickbats now, like everyone does, but 10 years ago I believe he'd have shit 'em. Genuinely think he would have been brilliant. Hope he still is now. Get the feeling the bellends will just label him Mike Bassett and not really understand he wasn't, and have him out on his arse within a couple of years.

^^ 100% agree.

Sounds & followed by the lazy end of the media stuck the 'big boot' story. So a man with Campo, Okocha, Stelios, Ricardo G, Youri, Hierro, Speed and any number more was big boot. Yeah.

But there'll be many simply waiting to slag him off.
