i sacked the stream off and paid my £17 to sky. glad i did, was a great spectacle in glorious HD, with the english commentary and reaction.
not sure how Grove's head was still attached after that! but it served him right for his ridiculous entrance palaver.

Looked a right nice person on the entrance Comes in on a London bus and leaves in a London ambulance
Re: Boxing Fans Anyone?
On a side note.. Anthony Joshua is going to be a superstar. Watched him from day one and although he is still a baby in the professional game, he will go on to dominate the heavyweight division IMO.

Need to see what he is like when he fights someone who can punch back.ChrisC wrote:On a side note.. Anthony Joshua is going to be a superstar. Watched him from day one and although he is still a baby in the professional game, he will go on to dominate the heavyweight division IMO.

Wasn't prepared to risk a shitty buffering stream cutting out.
Well worth the money.

Oh I was, and it worked. Saved £17 too, so if I add that to my Lotto win that's a total of £42. That's a proper night in, is that!jaffka wrote:Same as.General Mannerheim wrote:i sacked the stream off and paid my £17 to sky. glad i did, was a great spectacle in glorious HD, with the english commentary and reaction.

I agree, the guy on Saturday caught him with a shot and he didn't seem to flinch Went on to knock him out first round.jaffka wrote:Need to see what he is like when he fights someone who can punch back.ChrisC wrote:On a side note.. Fights Matt Skelton next in July. Getting on abit but a former champion so a good step up for AJ.

Aye, the stream I put up was pretty good. The foreign commentary would have made Hoboh's blood boil though.Bruce Rioja wrote:Oh I was, and it worked. Re: Boxing Fans Anyone?
So, where to from here for boxing? Nick Blackwell remains in an induced coma after his fight with Chris Eubank Jnr. For those of you that haven't seen it, Chris Eubank Snr entered the ring at the end of the eighth round asking why the fight hadn't been stopped and, doubtlessly with what happened between him and Michael Watson on his mind, asked his son to go for body shots rather than Blackwell's head. Blackwell left the ring at the end of the 10th on a stretcher whilst being given oxygen.

Re: Boxing Fans Anyone?
It was fecking brutal. Thing is for all the pounding he'd taken, Blackwell looked fine, he wasn't punch-drunk staggering all over, he was moving as well as he had done and talking to his corner. It sounds like he was lucky that the swelling come up above his eye so quickly (in about 30 seconds between the bell-going and it being stopped as that is why they stopped it rather than any thought of concussion or the like.

See, for me, a man doesn't have to be punch drunk. The fight's won and lost well before that.

Didn't see it myself, Nicko, but my mate who did see it said that Khan was technically the better boxer but was always susceptible to being hit with a beauty. Fair?Nicko58 wrote:Amir Khan fights tonight. Is anyone going to be watching?

Re: Boxing Fans Anyone?
About right, Khan was going to go at some point later in the fight, he wasn't hurting the other guy and he looked after getting a little frustrated early on to be biding his time.Bruce Rioja wrote:Didn't see it myself, Nicko, but my mate who did see it said that Khan was technically the better boxer but was always susceptible to being hit with a beauty. Re: Boxing Fans Anyone?
The David Haye boxing night on Dave Channel is possibly the worst thing that's ever been on TV.
2 horrific mismatches, awful interviews, a screaming idiot in Shannon Briggs and a rapper who makes me want to perforate my own eardrums.
Haye is finally on next and has a lot to rescue.

Fury being investigated for a banned substance. That'd be too funny.
Re: Boxing Fans Anyone?
Chisora vs Whyte. Absolutely brutal, brilliant fight. They've been dicks in the build up, especially chisora, but huge respect to take what they took over 12 rounds and keep coming back for more.
