Re: The Politics Thread
It's the 11:08 heading to Newcastle. Sun's somewhere near a yardarm of some description. I want to see the pictures of the bar in Coach C. Sure all those seats LOOK empty, but there'll be a queue of Geordie pi$$ heads running from Coach C through to Coach F trying to make sure they can get enough cans of Ace 8 for a 2 hour 30 minute journey.

Bloody idiot. He could have used pretty much any peak time train in the country to make his point. In fact he should have gone on Thameslink as there would have been a reasonable chance of being delayed by days let alone hours!

Yeah, but that's not really relevant. The point is Blair was better able to convince people that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction than Jeremy Corbyn was at convincing people that a train was full.boltonboris wrote:Can think of worse lies by Labour leaders

I think you'll find it's 8 ace.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

Aye. Sad thing is, the point about the crappy train services in this country will be lost in the fall out from this gaff. Seems even spin can't be done properly these daysAbdoulaye's Twin wrote:Bloody idiot. He could have used pretty much any peak time train in the country to make his point. Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Seen some Corbyn supporters suggesting it is faked footage....
It really is a cult isn't it?

Re: The Politics Thread
Don't follow British politics but if it's anything like N.A. politics aren't all parties getting a bit cult like? Seems like all parties are getting more populist, and pandering to special interest groups that don't necessarily hold their traditional values whether right or left. Throw in the growing number of conspiracy theorists (set a bit of a trap for myself there) and it all looks like a bit of a circus out there.bobo the clown wrote:Yes.BWFC_Insane wrote:Seen some Corbyn supporters suggesting it is faked footage....

All it needs is a picture of some refugees and a 'We're full up' style catchy slogan and I bet millions will vote for him. Scary times.

I am sure we have every reason to be absolutely confident about the independant, disinterested train operator's account of the incident as they would have absolutely no reason I can think of tell a different story... no...

Re: The Politics Thread
in what sense faked? anyone who travels by train knows that just cos someone is not currwently sitting in their seat doesn't mean they are not on the train and about to return to it...BWFC_Insane wrote:So the footage is faked then?thebish wrote:I am sure we have every reason to be absolutely confident about the independant, disinterested train operator's account of the incident as they would have absolutely no reason I can think of tell a different story... no...

it could be as jeremy's team says - they had bags on them... no fakery needed...
from where you and I sit, we have no real way of knowing - so you pays your money and takes your choice.
I don't see any obvious reason to choose to believe one account over the other - but you seem very, very, very sure that Virgin are the ones to believe! (The Transport Salaried Staffs Association support Jezza's version of events saying that Virgin are being "disingenuous".)
VIRGIN - disingenuous!! never, surely not? really???

Re: The Politics Thread
I haven't seen the footage and tbh dont really want to but my Facebook feed is now full of pictures and stories purporting to show families and other passengers sat on the floor too. Claims that all the empty seats were reserved?BWFC_Insane wrote:So the footage is faked then?thebish wrote:I am sure we have every reason to be absolutely confident about the independant, disinterested train operator's account of the incident as they would have absolutely no reason I can think of tell a different story... no...
