For new signings, ask the man from the Pru

No to Osman, per BN.

Parky: “We invited Leon in for a day’s training but I think we’re going with what we have got for now."

Iles: "An injury to Lewis Buxton which rules him out for the next three weeks could mean Parkinson is forced to seek some defensive cover (...) chairman Ken Anderson is understood to have given Parkinson the all-clear to bring on board another signing if he sees fit."

Just read that. No real surprise and I'm thinking possibly a case of Carr's pasties might not have done the deal?

Bolton move for Odemwingie? Well according to Mark Iles we are. He has been a free agent since the summer and is now 35. He scored against us last season for Brizzle City. I seemed to recall he wasn't too bad but how long will it take to get him match fit?

Rated very highly a few years back! Seem to remember him being a billy big bollocks, not necessarily a bad thing but one would hope he doesn't come just for the money!

On trial according to Iles, like Osman was.

Isn't he that one that pitched up at someone else's training ground when they hadn't signed him?

Fantastic signing if the club can pull it off

Yes he's 35 but looks youthful & fit as a fiddle (well he looked it on Soccer AM over the weekend), he would be a great asset in this league and IMO would still frighten most League 1 defenders.

The first Nigerian footballer EVER to look younger than he claims to be. ;)

Im sure he could get goals at this level. Ian Marshall-esque.

He's half Russian and was born in Uzbekistan apparently.

Not sure how tenuous the link was but we were definitely mentioned. IIRC, not many on here fancied it much - partly not liking the bloke, partly questioning his suitability for the job.

There's talk of us bringing him in. I was just wondering if he might be any relation to Bury and NI's former centre forward, Derek Spence, but I've just seen a photo of him and it's fair to say that that's highly improbable. :?

Odemwingie looks younger than he is? Has he had his teeth checked yet?

A club losing its' first team players to teams a division below, due to a (probably right) lack of ambition. An impossibly poor and thin squad for the Championship. they were on a hiding to nothing. Think it;'s unfair to judge his ability based on him managing a league 1/2 club/team in the highest standard of Championship in recent years

If you look at Rotherham's fixtures, they've just played:

Brum (5th), Norwich (2nd), Newcastle (1st), Huddersfield (4th - but I think were top at the time), they've also played Brighton (3rd) - so quite a lot of the teams at the top. Don't think they spent much in the Transfer window either.

I wouldn't want him at Bolton, thanks, but that wasn't really a balanced set of teams to be playing early doors. And the gap between Newcastle who were able to spend £30m and Rotherham who spent £500k or so is startling. (I know Newcastle sold quite a few too £70+m's worth).

We might need to get our heads round this level of disparity, with a bit of luck...

Neil Warnock showed what you can do at Rotherham even with a limited budget, if you have a proper manager.

No issue with Stubbs, he may be great, but he could just as easily be total shite.

Needs to prove himself in a decent league with a few clubs before anyone can judge.

In terms of Bolton, I'm sick of us being a proving ground for upcoming managers. I'd prefer the next decade or two being about managers who've been there and done it and worn the T-Shirt.

Warnock, woulda kept us up last season too.
