Re: Tonight's Football
High energy match typical of the way football's going right now. Strange rules referees apply, sort of "I don't spy", the double-barrel foul on Rashford being typical. Do that in a pub and you'd get six months for assault. Has to be said that the energy and effort of Slovenia was praiseworthy, their defence were willing to put the lung busters in and they missed a couple of real chances ( resulting from sloppy play by us)that could have put us out to grass. Something needs doing to post up a clear definition of the rules; right now it seems referees please themselves and make their own. We got two yellows for fouls that Slovenia easily matched half-a-dozen times by clod-hopping into the back of players. Credit to our lot for not doing Daleys. Same old same old English faults of not reacting quick enough, although we did improve as the game went on. We never really looked like scoring anything killer though and too much went backwards instead of forwards..Would Vardy and Kane have improved things up front? I'd still have started Rooney in midfiled, because he has a better football brain than a lot of others.

Think it's deliberate. The first programme at his new club Joe Hart was listed as John.

Moaning at Conte for 'disrespect' as well. Jesus wept. This is the man who had to be dragged from the ptich by the Barca keeper for trying to taunt their fans. Oh, and poked their coach in the eye before hiding behind a big lad. Utter wanker doesn't come close Bruce, I'm surprised and disappointed by your restraint!

It was indeed - could have been 5-3! Great goals, great saves, friendly crossbar, great passing - what more could you ask for.Prufrock wrote:City Barca was outstanding.

A most magnificent free-kick routine from Cheltenham Town here.

Versus the Bravehearts at 7-45 on T.V. Bring it on. Home internationals were always the best games.....

Re: Tonight's Football
Pretty comfortable win despite the Scots battering ram approach to it all. I was amazed at what the ref let go in terms of carrying a man bodily forward, particularly with lighter players like Sterling. Rose has to be a candidate for my MOTM for his amazing energy, efort and determination. No bad performance all round and three good goals. Gordon Strachan less than euphoric, of course...
