Boxing Clever...Shrewsbury Home 26th Dec.

Post by TANGODANCER » Tue Dec 20, 2016 10:52 am

Getting this up early pre Asda and all that stuff. Superwhites need to bring us Christmas cheer on Boxing Day. A home win here to set up the New Years Eve extravaganza would be the perfect soother of hangovers that will be as inevitable as the sun rising....Go for it...

Three nil. Madine brace sandwiching a Clough screamer.
Anything other than this and I'm calling it a day and supporting Bury instead.

Home win. It's what George would have wanted.

Almost made the thread title "The Taming of the Shrewsbury" but thought....nah.... :)

Any way, come what may we haven't to do worse that what Sheffield (away to Oldham) or Scunthorpe (at home to Bradford) do. Be nice if Bradford could win but it would put them wthin three points of us unless we do the same. Oldham winning would indeed be a bonus but, in a worst case situation, we must win regardless. So...COME ON YOU WHITES....a Christmas present for the fans on Boxing Day...No prediction, just a win anyway you like... :oyea: :oyea: :oyea:

Desperately hoping to listen in to all the match and operate a Radio Tango but the youngest lad and family are due a visit today. What's the betting they'll arrive around 3-0'clock? Apologies in advance to far flung fans if so.....

Would be nice to have a Gillingham type performance and result but would settle for a 2-0 or a 1-0.

What will we get? Anyone's guess.

No sign of family intrusion yet, so hopefully I'll be able to play 90 mins without being subbed. :D
Anyway, unchanged team which can't be bad as it's a strong one and we need to concentrate on just winning. No teams go a full season without the odd unexpected loss, so let's hope that was last week for us. Got the brew ready and, having just come back from dog walking I know just how brass monkeys it is out there. Multiply that by a few for the temp up on the hill and I'm reckoning there might be gloves on view. Right, all the Tower ads out of the way and...we're off......

Merry Christmases all round and the fans sounding in good voice. Visitors in yellow and blue ( and some rainbow boots?)and they start off with a throw. They visit quickly and....Ben has it . We start a tentative sally but it goes right through to the keepers. The visitors aren't sitting back from the sound of it. Guesses at 15,000 of a crowd?

Big Dave gets assaulted and wins a free kick. Mic men have a chat and a laugh then Spearing crosses one and we get our first corner. Spearing taking and......and......ooooohhhhh it gets cleared off the line and Zico thought it was in. Sammi, Wilson, back to the keeper and the vistors reclaim it but we get a throw....Taylor, Vela and.....it fizzles.

They clear again and micman resumes. Sammi, Vela, Sammi again and a throw opposite their box. And.....in and...cleared for another. Throw them now and a nice early goal would go down very well. Sammi goes, big Dave escapes a free kick....no, he doesn't (e-Banks Blake has put some timber on says Zico) as said E-Banks wins a throw now and....a cross comes in, then another but we wallop clear. End to end stuff right now. Come on lads, get the first goal....

Chat in the micbox then the visitors sally, we reclaim and....Black robs Clough and they come again via Blake. Stinger in but Alnwick deals with it. Spearing, Taylor and....a goal kick them. And, a wallop goes right out for our throw. Sammi, Madine, Spearing, Beavers and....back to the future. We go and they pick up our pass. Spearing gets it and sets Clough off. Some posession from us but they clear well enough. Bit of score chat about other planets then....we get a corner and......and...Spearing then and....and...Vela wallops one but they clear back to Benn who says thanks and rewards them with a throw.

They visit again and Taylor wins it then loses it. Throw them and....we clear to the Machine. Sammi goes, Madine does well and.....mic men have a chat. Throw us, we go again and then back again. Thorpe gets fouled and....they get a free kick. Agogo gets involved as thy sally but Beevers does well..We go to Bury to find....nowt much has happened. Now then....back at planet football...some scores as we get a corner. They clear, we go again and....they get a goal kick. The visitors will probably grow a bit in confidence so we need to score and mic man reckons they're playing well. Shrews get a free kick against Sammi. Zico disagrees...again, but the keeper wallops. Sammi goes forth again, mic men have a chat then...a bit of good possession from us then.....we get a corner via Taylor. Spearing now and.....and...it's 1-0......

Shrew have a corner now and....it becomes a throw and...is cleared. Throw us now, Wilson and we start well on 25 mins. Come on lads, capitalise. Madine gets shirt dragged and we get a free kick. And.....Spearing and....and...again and....do we get another free kick? Yes....thirty out and.....Spearing.....and....Beevers and it's 2-0 from Big Dave again. :oyea: :oyea:
