Where are they now... ex forum bandits?
occured to me lately that there ahve been some pretty prolific free posting memebrs over the years but many of them have just disappeared.
what ever happened to the likes of Bench, crayons, soldier of white army, communist work ethic, capslock, warthog, daxter, batman, HRG, zulu, ratbert, plodder, mofgimmers
or even more recent vanishing acts; annoyed grunt, wtw, bish, leopard spots!?
I dont post much myself but im here reading most days, seems strange that so many members for whom the forum must've been a big part of their lives for a fair old period, would just stop?
are you all still here under different aliases?

Warthog - spat some sorta dummy
Daxter - dunno
Batman - got banned and went to Lion of Vienna Suite where he's happily picking fights with midfielders
HRG - decided Twitter was a better place to be
Zulu - not sure
Ratty - home life took over
Plodder - Not sure
MOFgimmers - I think took to Twitter too
Annoyed Grunt - had serious illness in the family - his son Freddie it's got its own thread
WTW - think got fed up of political "debate"
Bish - taking a rest as I understand it along with Bobo
LLS - got a yellow card and never came back...

Warthog was banned, but still rants quite amusingly on Facebook.
Grunto still posts I think.
Bench is in Australia though has posted from there.
I thought Zulu was still a moderator.

Yes, Bench emigrated. Last heard of by me he was somewhere in S.E. Queensland settling into a new life, new job and learning the language.
LLS, apart from his short ban, I understand has(d) health problems.
I suspect, Worthy, that many on here became heartily sick and tired of the politics; not because of the subject itself, but because it permeated through just about every thread on the board. I for one am pleased to see that it's tapered off.

Re: Where are they now... ex forum bandits?
Zulu is still a moderator but had some personal stuff to sort out. He'll still be around, oiling his Winchester 73 when needed. Bobo will return some time when he's ready but not heard from Spots for a while despite sending him a couple of pm's. He didn't have the best of health but no news on that since I last spoke with him. Shame about losing good posters like him, Crayons, W.T.W and even thebish. Problem isn't with the topics, ie politics etc as subjects, just personal views and opinions concerning them getting in the way and leading to friction. We're all guilty of it at times.

I once drifted off for a year or two. No reason other than I got busy for a while, Gary Megson was a wanker etc. I think once you've not been on for a few months you forget why you came on in the first place and the habit is lost...and lets face it, football is a habit. I was bored one day and came on the site again and regained the habit. Don't post as much as I used to, but that's probably to the benefit of you lot anyway

It was quite serious, but relatively sorted apart from a few issues.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2017 3:50 pmFrom memory..

Like the above said, you get busy/distracted you get out of the habit.

I actually saw WTW in the Chesterfield thread with 2 posts and saying things were "dire" and thought 'I wonder'. So I clicked on his first post and voila.

Re: Where are they now... ex forum bandits?
Last heard from Bench years ago. In the days of Simbo and Bolton Billy, we met up at Chelsea but times and people change and go on to new things. We used to have an Atom site, then it was upgraded and became a bit useless so Bishop set another site up which was to become this one a few reincarnations later. There were a few battles fought and insults and bannings ensued but the site hung on and here it is today with a few new members and a few of the oldies left. Personally I'm at the signing in for Radio Tango but beyond the rare comment I'm content to read all the good and bad. I well remember Leyther Matt and I had the highest number of posts by thousands but we gave them up when a site upgrade was made. Been a member on and off for a dozen or more years and seen lots of good folk come and go. Only seems like yesterday. So now hoping for a successful season and KA getting the business back on an even keel.

Re: Where are they now... ex forum bandits?
In a couple of weeks it will be 12 years since I first came over here, persuaded by Crayons, from the old 666 site. A lot of folk have come and gone and time marches on. In earlier days I met Bench, Keveh, Bruce, Crazyhorse, Bobo, Zulu, Commie, Batman, H.R.G, the Northern Irish lad?, Pete? Crayons, Worthy, WT.W, Warthog, Apathy, SuperKev and quite a few others ,( apologies for anyone missed) for a pint at games. (never did get to meet thebish despite our verbal battles on here). Strange thing was that quite a few of them were nothing like they seemed on here; Batman and Commie for instance were great lads to have a pint with and despite a few spats with both, I'd still do the same if I ever meet them again. We're all a bit older now (and maybe a bit more mellow and sensible ), and it's a shame the forum is so sparse now. Maybe this season will bring a few members back, who know?

importantly, it's still going unlike quite a few.TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Mon Aug 14, 2017 8:47 amIn a couple of weeks it will be 12 years since I first came over here, persuaded by Crayons, from the old 666 site.
