Who are the 3? Wheevers and Vela?

Cheers Worthy - saved me a job: I was wondering precisely this the other day, how "settled" our team has been. Again, kudos to Parky for managing the change.

On a train reading the BBC live text. Milwall battering Fleetwood so far. I think.

Expect a Fleetwood landslide after that then.

Cheers Pru!

Scunthorpe 1-0 up. My ideal is either Scunny win or Fleetwood draw and then we win tomorrow. Not technically promoted, so I still get my pitch invasion, but no pressure on the game (other than don't get beat 10-0).

That works for me too - but point of order, shall we keep the discussion on the Countdown To Finish thread? :D

Parkinson needs to start with Long tomorrow because he has the pace needed to get behind the Bury back line. Bury will provide stubborn opponents for a Bolton team losing their last two games. Goals seem to have dried up after their recent scoring spree.
Failure to beat Bury will put even more pressure on a Bolton team struggling at the wrong time of the season.
I still fear for the future of the club.

Bury aren't going to leave space in behind. So Long's pace will be totally nullified.

I'd play him wide left. If there is any space behind it'll be wide, but also he's direct and commits people which can bring the disorganisation our short-but-clevers need.

I'm awarding both Scunthorpe and Fleetwood's managers the manager of the weeks.

Let the curse commence.

We'll see how much the mental fragility has been banished now. A challenge has been set and winners always respond. COYWM :Jedi:

Henry could be fit to play on Tuesday, if that is the case then great. Not looking forward to this fixture.

Haven't done the double over Bury in 91 years apparently. Now would be an absolutely spiffing time to break that record.

Sounds like no Moxey at least.
Thats a start.

I'd like to see us start 442 for a change, have a right go at them. Morais and that lad from Brum ont wings, he seems to have dissapeared.

Not happening. And I don't think it should either. Parky said in his pre match press conference today that the system at Oldham was built to get our two main goal threats, Vela and ALF into the box. And he will likely do the same again if no Madine.

I don't think 4-4-2 suits us at all. Means Vela doesn't fit in and we carry two strikers offering little if we aren't right on top. Also don't think we have a midfield that is suited to it.

Quite like the idea of Long on the left. Morais on the right. ALF up top.

Dervite to right back.

Still, sounds like same team as at Oldham barring Taylor in for Moxey.

I think the game is less pressurised for Bury than ourselves.
You're drifting back into the arena in which you just post any old shite that comes into your head with troubling yourself with the facts. This is a classic example.

There were 11 games in D3 today. Only one - Southend’s 2-1 home loss to Dons - was won by the lower-placed side. There were two draws, so 8 of the 11 games were won by the literally superior team. The table doesn't lie.

Being desperate for points wasn’t much use to Coventry (0-2 at Rochdale), Chesterfield (1-3 at Scunny), Swindon (0-1 at Walsall), Vale (0-2 at Oxford) and Oldham (0-1 at Bristol Rovers). The only two clubs in the bottom eight not to lose were Shrewsbury (1-1 at Northampton) and Bury, whose time will hopefully come tomorrow.

So we're on 79pts (GD +27)
Fleetwood 78pts (+20)
Scunthorpe 76pts (+23)
Bradforlona 75pts (+16!)

Fleetwood can get to 84pts, Scunny 82, Bradford 81. A win for us tomorrow night would mathematically ensure we finish above Parky's old side and would also all but rule out Scunny (we'd be 6pts above them so we'd have to lose both our remaining games, they'd have to win both theirs and there be at least a five-goal swing).

Given our GD advantage over the Fishies we should only need five points from our three games, six to make sure… it's still well in our hands and for all the shadow-jumping we can't really complain about the fixtures we have left. Be strong, be good, work for each other, run ourselves into the ground and we should have enough. COYWM.

Parky defends his selection at Oldham, perhaps hints at using it again (per BN):
I felt that Josh playing in that role [advanced with ALF] is so dangerous and I thought he was excellent. You have to remember he’s our top scorer. It was about getting him into an attacking position.

I think it worked well in terms of the creativity in the team and using Josh’s energy to run down the sides. Him and Filipe Morais got in some great positions down the right.
Josh Vela was a waste of a shirt at Oldham. The entire game passed him by. Rubbish there from Parkinson.
