Re: The official Bolton Stream/Radio link thread.
This looks like good news for our fans abroad: £110 for live streams of every game (with the odd caveat, eg games covered live elsewhere).

I imagine this will also open opportunities for those who are determined to pirate streams.

Shame there isn't some sort of pay as you go. With time differences and different working days I often can't tune in live.
Re: The official Bolton Stream/Radio link thread.
Really no need to if you're willing to cough up the dough as there are ways of making your PC appear to be elsewhere.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Thu May 04, 2017 11:00 amThis looks like good news for our fans abroad: £110 for live streams of every game (with the odd caveat, eg games covered live elsewhere).

If this is true then this is awesome news.

Of course; useful, those location-hiders. But you and I both know there are those who aren't willing to pay.DJBlu wrote: ↑Thu May 04, 2017 12:30 pmReally no need to if you're willing to cough up the dough as there are ways of making your PC appear to be elsewhere.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Thu May 04, 2017 11:00 amThis looks like good news for our fans abroad: £110 for live streams of every game (with the odd caveat, eg games covered live elsewhere).

Re: The official Bolton Stream/Radio link thread.
So I virtually popped over to Canada and found this on the bwfc.co.uk website
Equates to roughly £109 for all the games not covered by TV.
Given our track record of games on TV in the championship the deal stands at just under £2.70 a game.

On top of that there's the cost of a VPN to Canada, non?
I'd rather support Bolton than be you.

Assuming you connect to a public WiFi network at times then you should be using a VPN anyway. In fact, for online banking and generally stopping nefarious snoopers they are a good idea. As with everything there are good and bad uns. The good ones are reasonably priced, don't log you and offer a dozen or more countries to pop over toRobbieSavagesLeg wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2017 4:33 pmOn top of that there's the cost of a VPN to Canada, non?

Why wouldn't you just stream it?!

A VPN to any country outside the UK should suffice, I merely used Canada as that's where my server is.RobbieSavagesLeg wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2017 4:33 pmOn top of that there's the cost of a VPN to Canada, non?
Re: The official Bolton Stream/Radio link thread.
I suppose the money goes to the club and will help. I can't get to the games every week so it's ideal. There are other ways to avoid the GeoLocking. Overplay SmartDNS is one method.
I'm all for streaming if you can't afford it but at £2.60 a game + £38(Smart DNS for the year) = £3.50 a game. I think that this is extremely good value for money.

If they are anything like the Neulion provided Premier League streams then they'll be HD at 4500kbps.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2017 6:43 pmPresumably it will be better than the average streams we've had (not including DJs most excellent last match of the season thing).

The usual ones I see I have to squint hard just to tell who is who. Undoubtedlythat is partly down to having the eyesight of an old fart, but not all of it... I hope!DJBlu wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2017 7:07 pmIf they are anything like the Neulion provided Premier League streams then they'll be HD at 4500kbps.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2017 6:43 pmPresumably it will be better than the average streams we've had (not including DJs most excellent last match of the season thing).

Re: The official Bolton Stream/Radio link thread.
So how do we get to see every game? no problem paying for it! what's a Vpn?

Re: The official Bolton Stream/Radio link thread.
A Virtual Private Network. In short it allows you to log into a server and route all your internet traffic through said server. They can be situated anywhere in the world and will allow you access to the services which would otherwise be blocked due to geographical restrictions.plymouth wanderer wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2017 7:42 pmSo how do we get to see every game? no problem paying for it! what's a Vpn?
