he's not baulking at min wage but its an issue, im not sure any of his staff are on min wage but id assume some will be on close to £10 an hour. they work hard literally up to their knee's in shit every day and as such make an extra few quid than a shelf stacker. will they get an extra 3 quid an hour?
Ever tried proper shelf stacking?

It ain't easy.

If I was offered a choice between "shelf-stacking" and "up to my knees in shit" - I know which one I'd pick for the same money (probably)...If we assume that generally Tesco's have as many shelf stackers as they need, then the opportunity for people to just switch is smaller, but I suspect he'd have to offer a differential to attract people in.

When the minimum wage was introduced, we were told it would break the economy. It didn't.

It's become all about socialism vs evil.

Baby killers vs The good

It's like feck* Star Wars ffs.

Sick and tired of going onto any social media platform and having some 21 year old read the riot act about hwo they're a better person than somebody else because they're voting for somebody.

Then saying "You all just make your mind up about what you read in da meeja.." then signing it off with #ForTheMany or #StrongAndStable

It's just a catastrophe of absolute wankers. From voters to politicians. It's more tedious than Brexit but I can't help biting FFS

ok £1K a year then, or even £100...?

im fairly confident the majority could sooner keep £100 in their pocket than have someone they dont really like running the country...

but even if i was in a position to lose £10K a year, which im not, i dont see how that is that fair, just because i can afford it?

my mate runs small firm, doing quite well, turnover is good. has a handful of staff, premises, vehicles, stock... he didnt go to university, started up on his own at 21 and has grown, he's working class and works fkin hard!! what with tax hikes, increased minimum wage, extended paid paternity, extra bank holidays etc, he reckons they stand to be down about £50k a year under a Labour government. he's certainly not in a position where it means f*ck all to him.
I strongly suspect his maths are way out. Like way, way out.

Small businesses would have a 21% corporation tax rate for example...I bet he's used the common media reported 26% (which will apply only to large profit businesses).

One of Labour's massive failings this election has been failing to press their support for SMEs. And really show their committment to developing tech and R&D industries. It is in their manifesto, but they haven't played on it, at all. Probably because it is the stuff Corbyn doesn't really care about. I'm all for a fairer society but you can't keep banging that drum without covering the other stuff.

I don't use Facebook much and Twitter is in the once every 6 months category. I do use YouTube quite a lot. Through Facebook, I've been absolutely plagued by forwarded shoite. If I hadn't made my mind up, it would have made me vote the other way just for shitz n giggles. YouTube, I was getting ads from parties I'll never ever vote for that just pissed me off even more with them.

The only thing that's remotely come close to making me vote for Corbyn is the front page of the right wing tabloids. Christ.

Certainly take Boris' point about the catastrophe of wankers on Twitter who seem to think voting Tory is a moral deficiency, but I find that hard to weigh against the Mail, Express and their hysterical nonsense.

The X Factor...

At the Broken Promise Bankers' Club,
In the town of a thousand lies
Where members dress from Saville Row
And wear Armani ties,
The women members in this club
(More than just a few)
Wear smelly stuff from Coco;s
And shoes from Jimmy Chu.

Today they'll watch intently
Like witches round the pot,
From Mercedes, Jag and Bentley
As fate unfolds the plot.

The Wizard of great unable
Who looks like Dr Who,
Says he'll hand out the millions
To the many not the few,
Whilst the Witch of designer label
Claims she's only here for us
We must be strong and stable
Says her talking campaign bus.

It's all a great X Factor, so vote friends for your fate,
Here's Boris in a tractor being everybody's mate.
In truth, what are we voting for, or what our hopes or fears? ,
Ah well, it's all been going on, almost a thousand years.

(A thousand and two actually, but what the hell? :D )
Si Deus pro nobis, quis contra nos?

Just ignore it all and go work it out for yourself. You won't get a straight answer from either social media or written media generally - you'll just get their spin on it...

The problem is, you can't work it out for yourself as there's so little content in the manifestos and they're carefully worded. What they don't tell you is as important as what they do. And actually there's little to zero penalty for not sticking to what the manifesto promised anyhow (other than you might get voted out at the next election).

A good example would be a "promise not to raise Income Tax" (by any party) - that doesn't tell you whether they're going to raise VAT, NI, Corporation Tax etc...all of which might make you worse off one way or another...

We should force a standard manifesto on all parties (detailing what they're going to do with every aspect of taxation and spending) in numbers over the 5 years they're in power. If I turned up at work with a business case that looked like their manifesto's, I'd be laughed out of the shop.

The manifestos?

The problem in our country, a big, massive problem, is that people are totally misled by a generally rightwards leaning media. The lack of critical thinking and "probing behind the headlines" has reached appalling levels.

Equally the skill of politicians and political parties in actually breaking through that media bluster and connecting with people directly is at an all time low.

This perfect storm leads us to "strong and stable" and people thinking a) that she is strong and stable despite the blatant fact she isn't and b) thinking that is a quality that actually matters to any extent.

The idea that having a PM who is able to tub-thump is critical blows my mind. We are a nation of business, services, financial institutions, people who work and understand leadership. Yet every single time the emphasis is placed on personality, rather than track record, message and policy.

Here is the forecast based on the crunching of the data from the latest polls, historical patterns and recent vote shares.

I warn you...look with extreme caution (unless you're a massive Tory).

http://electionforecast.co.uk/

Note: Probability of Tory Majority = 95%
Labour Majority = 0%

They aren't claiming accuracy, see margin of error etc... but generally this will be pretty accurate (as accurate as any model of this nature can be). So look at it as confirmation of the trend rather than an absolute prediction.

In other words...Tories have won...go to bed early!

To be fair, the last two windows, we did big things! (Relative to where we were).

Can't complain on those.

This election will be like the one where we signed NGog and Sordell last minute....only even shitter.

Oh, don't get me wrong. Don't think on what I saw there was much of a smoking gnu there. Still found it good Thursday afternoon viewing. McCain was absolutely bumbling and Feinstein not much better...

Yeah, impartiality is important with Trump. He never gets a fair deal. The f*cking balloon. See? Never.
