Official site: One-year deal "with an option".
Wheater:
I said at the end of last season that there is only one place I wanted to be and I am delighted to be back at Bolton Wanderers Football Club. Hopefully, we will have another season like last and I don’t see any reason why not with the quality we have in the squad. I’ve been here for six-and-a-half years - it’s like my hometown – and the Wanderers fans mean everything to me.
Parky:
I’m really pleased that we’ve agreed a deal with David. He had an excellent season last year and at the age of 30 I feel the best years are still ahead of him. I’m really looking forward to working with him this coming season.

Knew there was absolutely no chance Wheatz was going anywhere. He loves it here. He's just been on holiday with Spearo and Vela. Hopefully we can get Spearing tied up too now.

SPEARING? On HOLIDAY? how DARE HE?

Seriously, he might have other options and thus take longer. He may also want more than our structure.

For the record, other senior pros still yet to be re-signed are Morais, Dervite and Clayton.

Morais will sign. Have a feeling Spearing will too - though I agree he may be a longer job with other offers.

Dervite and Clayton may depend on how much we want them and therefore offer.

Big one I sense we could miss out on is ALF. Just feel at his age and being a striker (who will have other options) we might not fit him into our wage structure.

Oh yeah, ALF. Never a permanent staffer so he's in a different list. GET JAMES HENRY SIGNED UP

Here's the big man:

Wheater for some reason just makes me smile every time I hear him speak, I love him. He's just got a great character...and that's just made my day him re-signing...brilliant :D

I's okay, I sniped him about 9-0'clock this morning. He won't be back.

I'm not sure of this has been posted elsewhere, or how much of it DSB has already confirmed bit by bit in numerous posts, but the EFL has released the official list of retained players.

Looking at the size of some of the squads in the Championship against the size of ours puts into perspective the mammoth task we have next year to stay up.
