Re: Tennis, anyone.....?
If it weren't for patriotic interest I doubt I'd ever watch tennis at all. Football, golf, cricket, athletics yes, but certainly not tennis to watch foreign stars male or female in action. When our local heroes/heroines depart, thus my interest goes with them.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue Jul 11, 2017 12:29 pmJust me perhaps, but I don't get the love for Nadal/Federer etc...
I'm happy for Murray to win because he's British and I've followed his career. But other than that I always root for the underdog. Don't get why the Wimbledon crowd are so keen on the same people winning every time....

Match point, someone wet their keks. Halep sorta half stopped thinking it was an out call.

Yes, saw highlights. One hysterical idiot I suppose rather than widespread unpleasantness.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Tue Jul 11, 2017 9:04 pmMatch point, someone wet their keks. Halep sorta half stopped thinking it was an out call.

At least there aren't "get it over the net" shouts every shot. Something to be thankful for.

Oh, don't worry A.T. we're fast catching up with the Yanks at making being fans "fanatical". Won't be long before it happens.. Golf used to be very "gentlemanly" at one time and they soon changed all that.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote: ↑Wed Jul 12, 2017 6:06 amAt least there aren't "get it over the net" shouts every shot. British tennis crowds aren't unpleasant (in the way some foreign ones are) but they are deeply, deeply, deeply irritating!LeverEnd wrote: ↑Tue Jul 11, 2017 9:48 pmYes, saw highlights. The whole crowd is that "one woman at a football match who can't stop screaming if they ball goes within 30 yards of the goal at either end".

Which is strange as when I went to an NBA game years ago in the US the fans were about as fanatical as a sloth. Most didn't stay in their seats for more than 5 minutes until the last few minutes of the game. The rest of the time they were either getting food and drinks or trying to catch thing thrown into the crowd (I use crowd very loosely) to keep them entertained. It was absolutely awful apart from a handful of away fans.TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Wed Jul 12, 2017 9:15 amOh, don't worry A.T. we're fast catching up with the Yanks at making being fans "fanatical". Well, I was actually thinking more golf A.T.as per your first comments.. My son in L.A. is also a Cheese-Head ( Green Bay Packers fan) and they seem quite fanatical to extremes.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote: ↑Wed Jul 12, 2017 10:22 amWhich is strange as when I went to an NBA game years ago in the US the fans were about as fanatical as a sloth. They're particular weirdos in LA
Re: Tennis, anyone.....?
Murray out. Has to be injured as there is no excuse for losing two sets 6-1 to Sam Querrey

Just do the comedy accent then. You could even try the Millwall accent, but it might give Bruce a few nightmares
