What are you eating and drinking tonight?

As a homage to the Wanderer'ser's' magnificent achievement's this weekend, we're enjoying some lovely roast pigeon with ceps, pancetta potato cake and an absolutely stunning 7-hour decanted Barolo La Serra.

I think we've done the lads proud. :D

Clearly yesterday we weren't eating at Manchester House... Tried to sneak a walk-in. Just about everywhere else booked solid too. Still, Yang Sing was up to it's usual high standard.

DON'T eat at Manchester House. Overpriced, pretentious and verily tasteless shite, The French utterly hammers it by way of upmarket nosebagging.

That said, have any of you eaten at Grafene, yet? Really fancy booking in to do the taster menu for my Birthday. https://www.grafene.co.uk/

Akbars near the science and industry museum in Manchester, yesterday. Bearing in mind there was an outside possibility we were all a bit pissed, was excellent.

36th wedding anniversary today. Sirloin steak on the agenda, but the wife's cooking it. Estrella will probably be the cerveza of choice. :D

Just tucked into a bit of cheese prior to going out, a bit of Shropshire Red. The missus bought it by mistake thinking it was Red Leicester, of which we are both fans. I'd never even heard of Shropshire Red to be honest, but it is gorgeous. Just as nutty, creamy, and crunchy as the best of Red Leicester but with added depth to the flavour... nice.

Spotty - try Shropshire Blue if you (a) like blue cheese, and (b) can find it.

Shropshire blue, figs, glass of decent red = a little slice of heaven.

Here's one you'll think is a pxss take; it isn't. Wife, being fruit conscious, got some grapes from Asda . I did a double take when she showed me they were "Candy floss flavoured" . After I stopped laughing, I tasted one, then another. They're bloody delicious, really delicious.

Yep, I quite like Shropshire Blue. Not with red wine though - I can't drink red wine unfortunately, I have to stick with beer, whisky, and champagne.

Currently round a friend's. He's just served up bubble and squeak with added clams all fried up with balsamic vinegar (tradizionale).
Fxcking gorgeous.

Levanter in Rammy tonight. There's a lot of eating places sprung up around there since I last visited, and all appearing to be doing a roaring trade for a Wednesday evening.

Any road. Top tapas there. The scallops were awesome and the tortilla the finest I've had anywhere. I decided to have a bash at giving up red meat last week, which given the jamon and chorizo on display tonight was probably not my wisest ever decision! Definitely recommend

went to the Eagle and Child in Rammy last week, its just been done up a treat!

grub was good before and its even better now. wouldnt bother with the arty-farty starters but the mains were very impressive.

has (literally i think) taken the best Cheese & Onion Pie in the world crown from the shoulder!
talking of Rammy, Eagle just won Great British Pub of the Year!!

We've just rushed out to Argos because she's decided not at all on a whim that we absolutely *need* one of those Nespresso capsule coffee machines.

Pretty good tbf. I've said if we're doing it we're getting the swanky milk frother too. Couldn't be less Brexit if we tried.
