I've been informed on pretty good authority, that the embargo has not been lifted, only softened. Meaning we can promote youngsters, but still cannot buy players, or sign out of contract players without the same approval we've had since 1902 or however long we've been embargoed

Sounds entirely likely to me. Probably just a common sense decision to make the youngsters available.

Karl Henry. A few years ago he is the type of nasty bastard that I would have said we needed. Saw his name on the free agent list and wondered if he would fit the bill. Or at least be seen to fit the bill. That was untill Parky said he wanted an attacking midfielder...

Anyway I suspect he will sign for less than (or equal to) £4.5k a week. Or at least I hope we are not paying him more!

Apparently he's 35 in a few months time and is / was a bit of a naughty bastard which is what we need - whether he's the one I don't know, he's been training with West Brom for the past few weeks and Pulis has recommended him to us.

He's a free agent and we will have make sure that we have the appropriate clearance before he can actually sign for us. Rather than disproving the rumour, that would actually indicate that there might be something in it, would it not?

I'm not thrilled Tom but I suspect he's the only midfield hard man who will sign for £4500 a week...a condition of the supposed embargo/agreement/ruleset with the EFL. I'd of taken PT's suggestion of Joey Barton myself...
