For most Bolton fans the table tennis contamination was stopped when Coyle left at the end of that fateful 2011/12 season.
Unfortunately for me he's turned up at Ross County FC, my struggling hometown club in the north of scotland. Presumably to put another stake in the heart of a club I love. (I emigrated, i'm allowed more than one)
They won their first game at Kilmarnock 2-0 last weekend but we all know how this one goes. For want of anything healthy to do, like moving on with my grief , I'll provide updates on his crazy escapades, since I know a few folk who work at the wee outfit.
Mon the staggies!

A long time ago I asked where I should go to watch footie up the top end of the UK, and you replied with Ross County or ICT. Unfortunately I then plumped for Inverness. If only I'd gone to Ross County... (plus you beat me once at chess I think, you nice person ).

Ha, good shout BWFCi. Too busy working on my germ metaphor.
Did I beat you at chess Spotty? I thought I didn't record a win over anybody in that ahem, league. I'm sure if I did it was sympathy.

Owen Coyle getting the band back together. Now Chris Eagles has signed for Ross County.
Til the end of the season-deal. One paper called him former Burnley player, another former Utd player. Hopefully he can be a big fish in a tiny pond.

He has it in him Jaker; I really hope he does well for you. I'll always remember him for lacing a shot into the net from an almost impossible angle after he intercepted a clearance from the opposition goalie. Can't remember who?

You could do much worse than Chris Eagles. Is he still wearing dayglo orange boots?TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Thu Nov 23, 2017 11:13 pmHe has it in him Jaker; I really hope he does well for you. Our last 10 results? W1 D3 L6 goes the tale of the tape. 3pts adrift at rock bottom. 5 adrift of safety.
Ping Pong results...on a need to know basis.

Thing is though, if you do get relegated there ain't any further to fall, surely?Jakerbeef wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2018 8:30 pmhttps://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/sp ... %e2%80%8b/

Every league has its cash cow. For better or worse ours is the mighty SPL. We've been flirting with Europe. Now we're flirting with ignominy

I saw them play Hearts the other week and I swear - you, me and nine of our mates could've given them a game. Truly awful.Little Green Man wrote: ↑Thu Mar 01, 2018 7:42 pmAnd he's now heading south.

David N'Gog didn't look out of place either.

Yep, we're a long way from the team that once made the Scottish Cup final, mugging Celtic in the semis. Alas. The Coyle Effect.
Still, we are now in healthy remission and can forget that 22-game delusion we just had. Every chance of avoiding relegation, just like my other favourite team
