Oh no. He's been terminal for a while. What sad news - a real musical hero of mine. Thanks for letting us know, Monty.

Had a couple of albums I've come back to several times over the last few years, lovely band and a big shame.

Part of my youth (I was 17 when Blueberry Hill came out and was all over the clubs and dance halls) . I remember him making "Blue Monday" and it being classed as depressing. Music legend, R.I.P.

Rather strange that; I've tried several times to contact him, and sent both e-mails to the address given, and p.m's. The e-mails were returned as "unable to deliver" and no I've had no replay to the pms' ? :?

Thanks, AT. I am not the most observant person on earth and did not notice the avatar change. Nor do I see private messages easily - the old site made this very clear with a red notification but the new site just puts a tiny numeral. Anyway we have indeed contacted Dujon, lost in cyberspace, and he will be back with us.

Shit.
I got drunk with him once; me, him, and Rat Scabies, in Erics. Lemmy was supposed to be there, but never turned up.

Not a lot of background. I was a regular at Erics in the late 70's (as I believe Tony Domingos was too). One of the headline acts pulled out (I think it was Siouxsie) and so it became just a members night (average attendance about twenty), except Roger (the owner) sometimes sprung surprise acts on member's nights and he'd booked Motorhead - except Lemmy had forgotten about it, and Rat had turned up to watch them. I'd met Rat a few times and we got to talking at the bar and Fast Eddie joined us... and we got pissed. Lemmy never turned up, and the Yeller Capris headlined instead.

The Damned were my second ever gig in Nov 81 when they toured The Black Album. Scabies went into this 10 minute drum solo. As a 15 year old who'd never seen this sort of thing before I was highly impressed. It remains the only time I ever felt impressed by some 4ucker making a narcissistic racket for 10 minutes. :)
