Iles: "Reports in Korea say Chung-Yong Lee's agent, Inspo Sports, have now confirmed their client is on his way to Wanderers."
Chungy: "I thought loaning to Bolton was a good decision now, and I am very happy that the work is well done and I look forward to the rest of the season."

BN saying £6M for Madine... that was the figure KA said originally, no? I'm guessing there will be add-ons.
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

Its not 6M up front. Iles speculated before 1.5-2M up front with the rest being add ons we may never see.Armchair Wanderer wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 12:16 pmBN saying £6M for Madine... that was the figure KA said originally, no? I'm guessing there will be add-ons.

Re: The Promotion Commotion Transfer Thread 2017
It will be 2-3 mil up front with add ons that may never happen, Cardiff going up being an obvious one. That’s the frustration. Meanwhile others demand much more for similiar players. We hold the cards here as we own the player. Unfortunately blue marble loan and Ken’s reluctance to spend his own money (understandably) are the issue. Club needs to start breaking even and player sales is the only way - Madines stock will never be higher but unfortunately we can’t get enough money in time to be able to spend some on a decent replacement. We’ll have to make do with a Dutch fella famous for eating a butty at half time!!

Aye, and by "up front", people usually mean the basic price without the "add-on" clauses (appearances, goals, achievements). The basic price is only infrequently paid "up front" – instead it's a debt paid off in regular sums, sometimes over the full course of the player's new contract.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 12:26 pmIts not 6M up front. I can see what he's currently bringing, I've made that blindingly fecking obvious, but he's far from always brought it. Well, in your head he might have but that's no place to exist.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 11:41 amWe'll see who is right come the end of the season. I look forward to that. You can't see what he brings and how he's improved over his time here. Perhaps you will when he's gone.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 11:37 amNow who's being ridiculous? In fact, that's so far beyond ridiculous that even your hyperbole doesn't have an adequate term.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 11:31 amThat's ridiculous though. Any player can lose form. So you'd best sell every player in case they lose form or get injured.
We're not talking about "any player". We're talking specifically about one player who for 95% of his time here has proved to be nothing other than a hapless calamity but who is currently enjoying a purple patch.
But you can't see that.
If he's as bad as you say it won't be an issue finding someone else who can bang 10 goals in till the end of the season in the same system Madine's been playing in. Should be a certainty.
May the bridges I burn light your way

Re: The Promotion Commotion Transfer Thread 2017
Tom Barclay, FL reporter for The Sun, says: "Understand there is a chance Omar Bogle could go the other way if Gary Madine signs for Cardiff from Bolton, but all quite difficult."
Brummie-born striker Bogle was signed by Cardiff in August for £700k (some say £1m) from Wigan. Interesting back-story before that: came through the youth systems at WBA, Birmingham (alongside Nathan Redmond, Jack Butland and the recently BWFC-linked Jordon Mutch) and Celtic, then battled up through non-league (Hinckley United, Solihull Moors, Grimsby Town) to Wigan (not technically non-league but they always will be to us). Got sent off v Bristol City - Colin, with typical grace, hung him out to dry: "I can’t say anything good about Bogle because that’s cost us the game. If you want me to say anything good about his performance, it’s a waste of time. Why play well and score and then go and get sent off? Cost your team the game."

Wondered if we might get Bogle, he's not going to get a game ahead of Zohore and Nadine.
He played at the bok and did fcuk all, though on the other hand his name is sort of funny so...

In all seriousness now, that seems to me to be a pretty high ratio of yellows to appearances. Being a Vogon Stat Master what can you tell me about the average yellow:appearance ratio, DSB?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 12:49 pmHis actual numbers (games/goals/assists/yellows):Lost Leopard Spot wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 12:40 pmA bit harsh, look at the facts as provided by Wikipedia:officer_dibble wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 12:27 pm.... Re: The Promotion Commotion Transfer Thread 2017
It sounds high but then SKD usually got more cards than goals. This guy seems to get a fair few of both, and TBH I'd take that above a law-abider who doesn't trouble the scoresheet. (Might also have the Big Man Syndrome of being punished unfairly - see WC2002 referees making an example of Peter Crouch – and that might be a bit less of an issue in the English second division than the Dutch top flight.)Lost Leopard Spot wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 12:56 pmIn all seriousness now, that seems to me to be a pretty high ratio of yellows to appearances. We might if we're lucky (and even this is looking unlikely) get Omar Bogle.
Good god. I didn't think today could get worse.

That's where you went wrong: differing from your usual mode.

I think we could do a lot worse than Bogle. Like getting nobody. But that deal seems far off anyway – swaps are notoriously difficult and I doubt we'd want to spend. Could be a try-before-buy loan I suppose. Or it could just be that at the 11th hour they've suggested a part-ex.

I really wish you'd stop looking at everything through rose tinted spectacles. Your constant glass half full optimism, elated enthusiastic buoyancy and cheer's driving me mad.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 1:28 pmWe might if we're lucky (and even this is looking unlikely) get Omar Bogle.![]()

You know not that long ago we played Cardiff. Madine bullied their defence, scoring one and creating the other.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 1:32 pmThat's where you went wrong: differing from your usual mode.![]()

Bogle played....but you wouldn't have known it.
It would be an absolutely monumental downgrade.
Frankly about the same as saying "lets just stick Wilbraham up front for the rest of the season". Which actually probably is what's going to happen.

There's no talking to you, is there?
Anyways, rival news: Burton borrow Man City's Jacob Davenport (19yo, midfield). Has played twice for U21s in the Checkaceheckachcekatrade Trophy. Clough: "He's highly rated by Pep Guardiola and you won't get a better endorsement than that. He's generally a holding midfielder, but he has played left-back and on the left-hand side of midfield as well."
Madine: The Sun have claimed "£6million upfront with incentives taking it to £8m." And they've never been wrong about anything.

Re: The Promotion Commotion Transfer Thread 2017
latest rumour is £8 million with £6 million "up front".
Hmmmmm.....
If it was real, that wouldn't be toooo bad.

No I'm sure the Wigan and Cardiff failure will be great. I'm sure he'll bang in the goals we need. Cannot wait....Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2018 1:37 pmThere's no talking to you, is there?
