Cotterill is about what I expected.

At the start of the summer I'd have taken Cotterill, thinking we'd lose Sammy and be left very short. Having kept Sammy, I don't think Cotterill improves us over Noone and Buckley.

Exactly as I predicted. A left wing on par with Buckley. One of them injury cover for the other. Another free. Not going to get worldbeaters on our budget, be lucky to get an eggbeater...

Taking players like that on trial at this stage makes sense, even if we are still after others. If they are our fall-back position, we can use the trial to get some fitness into them and make sure they're of use. I've no issue with looking at players, but if we do go for those players then we have to accept it'll be another tough season.

Marc Iles said "some interesting names on the team sheet", which makes me think there were some other players there he may not have mentioned. Marc's working relationship with the club means they'll sometimes ask him to hold back on some stuff and he'll do it in exchange for access down the line. If the club are worried that leaking a name will prejudice a deal, Marc will often keep it to himself.

I'm not panicking yet. Trialists are rarely going to be exciting prospects. The best players don't need to go on trial.

This....which is fair enough, I'd prefer KA to be concentrating on bringing players in or speaking to potential investors. I'm sure Paul Aldridge is more than capable of sorting this out on KA's behalf

From having spoken to an involved party. I'm in no way ITK at the club, just happened to talk to an old mate who was saying congratulations on the birth of my son and had a quick chat. It doesn't mean that everything is fine, that's just how the club is framing it. We'll no doubt find out shortly. Hopefully the meeting goes well and we see a couple of new lads arrive.

First one, maybe. If it's the second he's a moron. If the club is seen to be dismissive of mediation the league will not be happy. Given our issues, we need goodwill.

Phrasing the players and club as different entities was poor, but that's just PR stuff. Would have looked better if there was more "we" and they spoke about "the board" and "the players." Having the players as 'other' than part of the club isn't the idea they want to convey...or it is, in which case it's stupid. Obviously "the club" here just means Ken, but "the board" would have been a better way of him avoiding any personal responsibility.

It's a mediation and you're one half of the problem and don't bother to show up?
Ultra rude and arrogant, saying "I'm not sorry at all and BTW I'm bigger than you and the PFA".
Players will (and should)i hate him for it. Makes their actions look much more reasonable though.
Ken appears so far up his own arse he can't be reached...
