Of course not Tango.
I'm just keeping track of all the naysayers so we can send them a nasty letter in January when we're safe already!

*If* we get Garner, and Waghorn's departure is signed and sealed, then Ipswich are going to be looking a bit brassic goal-wise unless they get some late business in... they'll have lost four players who between them netted 35 times in the Championship last season (Garner, Waghorn, McGoldrick and Celina).
I'm not forgetting that they've brought in Harrison (who was £1m+ I think?) but interesting that their four in so far this summer have all been from the lower leagues (3xL1 and 1xL2).
Reckon they could have a bit of a rocky road this season.

Hurst is taking the approach that he wants players who are hungry and with something to prove. He seems very confident in his own abilities. I am sure Marcus Evans is delighted as the wage bill must be substantially lower. He is now predictably after Nsiala and Nolan from his old club. It will be very interesting to see how they go. I would've thought it is very risky making all their signings from the lower leagues as they are doing. The Championship is a huge step up from L1, although this year it may decline a little in quality due to a number of clubs not being able to strengthen due to financial issues.palindromeofbolton wrote: ↑Wed Aug 01, 2018 9:39 pm*If* we get Garner, and Waghorn's departure is signed and sealed, then Ipswich are going to be looking a bit brassic goal-wise unless they get some late business in... they'll have lost four players who between them netted 35 times in the Championship last season (Garner, Waghorn, McGoldrick and Celina).

I am placing all my faith in QPR, Hull and Birmingham to keep us out of the bottom three, with Rotherham, Blackburn and Norwich in reserve.

Rotterham conceded 5 goals.
To a good side TBF but doesn't bode well. For them, for us it's fantastic!
Lost everything: Possession 30-70, shots on target 5-10, corners 3-13.
Other relegation candidates already mentioned here, Reading, QPR and Sheff Wed, also lost

First week in the books. Bottom 8 losing teams have a few blips in there (WBA, Stoke) but also a few we expected. Notably Rotterham, Hull, Reading and QPR.
The sooner the better five teams get mired in the bottom the better. Not Bolton but, we're 5th!
5) Bolton
---------------
17) Wednesday
18) Reading
19) Sheff Utd
20) WBA
21) QPR
22)Hull
23) Stoke
24) Rotterham

It has been fairly obvious, but confirmation that Sheffield Wed are officially under a transfer embargo.

They still have the likes of Bannan, Reach and Foristieri so expect them to be out of trouble unless they get key injuries, but another club who are going backwards.

Watching Hull last night - they look like a candidate to me. Seems to be disillusionment amongst their fans, Atkins looks like he's a busted flush and their team does not look very good to me at all.

Villa didn't look too great for the most part eitherBWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue Aug 07, 2018 3:47 pmWatching Hull last night - they look like a candidate to me. Seems to be disillusionment amongst their fans, Atkins looks like he's a busted flush and their team does not look very good to me at all.

They won't be troubling the bottom 6. But yes number of fairly average teams this year. West Brom didn't seem great either.boltonboris wrote: ↑Tue Aug 07, 2018 3:58 pmVilla didn't look too great for the most part eitherBWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue Aug 07, 2018 3:47 pmWatching Hull last night - they look like a candidate to me. Could possibly be a good year for Leeds this.

Yes Hull have been in my bottom three all along. It all starts with owners who are taking as much money out of the club as possible, and they are bad at signing players.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue Aug 07, 2018 4:03 pmThey won't be troubling the bottom 6. Anyone who was half decent last season and haven't weakened have a great chance of promotion this season imho. Preston, Brentford (if they don't sell any more players), Leeds, Forest all have the best chance they are ever going to get.
We also have our best chance we are ever going to get of making massive strides up this league..

The Blades look a cut below. Bottom of the table after 2. Gave up 3 first half goals with shoddy set piece/goalmouth defence.
Is it just early?
I agree about Hull there is a lot of negativity between fans and management that will just fester as season goes on.
Rotterham, Hull, Sheff Utd? Reading?

Wilder worked miracles at the Blades but a lot of their team is middling League One level (Stevens, Basham, Lundstram, Evans). Merely reverting to type.

Their owners are the new Venky's been cutting corners and not spending. Fans are getting disgruntled at lack of spending.
