Crataegus monogyna. West Brom at home, Monday 21st Jan 8-0'clock.

Crataegus monogyna. West Brom at home, Monday 21st Jan 8-0'clock.

Crataegus monogyna, Latin for Hawthorns, home of the Monday night opposition and, in plant form has great defensive quality as a hedge and ironically, some very sharp and unfriendly thorns. Since West Brom are currently sitting in fourth spot in the table and we are imitating Atlas and carrying the world, and despite winning our last encounter, being a tough barrier seems about right to describe them. Not much is going for us right now, but we're Bolton so.....quien sabe...Views?

This is the one that could turn it for us. A win would put us above Reading and out of the bottom three. If ever as match mattered, this is it. If we carry on losing we'll be too far adrift to get back. Win tomorrow and it could do wonders for confidence at a time when we have very little. Not sure yet if Forest Green man (no, not Robin Hood, the Vince fella) is out of order or if it's us to blame for the Doidge calamity, but either way, Magennis and Donaldson are our strike force plus possibly somebody from junior school. Tough ask, but a win, oh, a win!....

I can't see anything other than a heavy defeat sadly. They've got a lot of movement up front and in Dwight Gayle a real goal threat (he's not 6'4 how do they manage that?)

0-3 defeat :(

Being one that communes with the weather I choose to ignore pay TV services, licence fee apart. Therefore I will miss this little gem, hope it turns out nice.

When did we last do the double over anyone?

In the third division we double-dipped on Fleetwood, Millwall, Northampton, Shrewsbury, Gillingham, Port Vale. So therefore Port Vale on Pitch Invasion Day, I guess.

In this division, on 6 Apr 2015 we beat Cardiff away 3-0 – same result we'd had against them at home. On 14 Mar we'd beaten Millwall at home 2-0, having won 1-0 down (t)here. Creating our only two doubles of 2014/15, those were our only two wins of that season's final 12; the following season we won one (against Wolves) of our first 23.

...tell you the truth, I'm looking forward to Peter Thompson's Buddhist reincarnation into another avatar. Tonight's result should be a good test of my divinatory powers... :D

Ah, yes, Port Vale. Thank you.

As did Domingo's and I on our way out!
In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

On my way to the Shed Of Exile as I type, in order to tune in to Radio Tango and not have the uxorial exhortations ringing in my ears of "what the fxck are you tip tapping at on that fxckin' phone?"

What do we think the attendance will be? Can we scrape 18k with the big give away. WBA will be bringing just short of 2.2k.

Ps. Couldn't give my two free tickets away. My dad said he'd rather watch my (recently re-married) mothers wedding video... Says it all, I guess.

Well, we made the BBC six o'clock news!

Pity it was just to give air to the extreme wing of the malcontents.
