Six Nations 2019

Post by TANGODANCER » Fri Feb 01, 2019 10:05 pm

Wales came from 16-0 down at half time to win 24-19 aainst the French on their home pitch. Not sure how to call this because the weather was so awful. Handling errors all over the place and I'm not sure Wales would have won on a dry pitch. Two of their tries were pure interception rather than good passing play, and one of them sheer luck as a French defender dropped the ball amost on the line after looking to have it safe. They did defend realy well second half though. Quite a few kicks were missed by both sides and it was a real game of two halves. The powerful Pierres' and Desperate Dantes' are pretty huge and their passing game is always a worry. England will need to be good to figure in this year's tournament.

Against all the form predicions we beat Ireland in Dublin 32-20! We probably have the least accomplished passing game of all the teams, yet sheer defending skill and effort and a never-say-die attitude turned it our way. We were seven up withing minutes of the start and only when't behind briefly once. Some really great performances, especially SDlade and Nowell and incredible defending against the Irish possession masters won it in the end. Quite a few Irish seats were empty before the final ball went out of play. Didn't see the Scotland game due to the Whites debacle, but hopes rise already. No easy task to beat France next week, but.....

Great win against the French 44-8. . Our defence totally nullified them. Wales next in two weeks, and that'll probably be brutal.
