Two,two the Lillywhite boys.....
So say the words of an old folksong (Green grow the rushes O). Can that be a score prediction as the Lillywhite Boys come to the Unibol and who will be singing at 4-45 Saturday? Can the SuperWhites, Wanderers, Trotters repel the visitors and get the desperately needed points? .....What's the view?

My view is that Enoch will turn several shades of purple when he sees the title of this thread.

I said late December that I couldn't see us getting more than 10 points before seasons end. We've still 9 to chase yet and I'm not sure I'll see us score more than once in a game either.
0-2 defeat
0-2 defeat

It beggars belief.

Iles says injury rules out Olkowski, Hobbs, Beevers, Taylor (probably), Williams and Wildschutforwhatitsworth.
On the other hand Alnwick should be back, so there's competition for who gets to pick the ball out of the net in the 61st minute of another 0-1 loss.

Positive prediction there given the back 4 we are likely to have available. Suspect we'll concede at least twice.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Fri Feb 08, 2019 10:24 amIles says injury rules out Olkowski, Hobbs, Beevers, Taylor (probably), Williams and Wildschutforwhatitsworth.

Aye, perhaps. Preston are a mixed bag. especially away: first eight trips were LLLLLDDD, since which they've won three and lost four. Won 4-1 at QPR immediately after losing at Rotherham. I suspect they'll win but not necessarily hammer us.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Fri Feb 08, 2019 10:31 amPositive prediction there given the back 4 we are likely to have available. Re: Two,two the Lillywhite boys.....
I mean, we could win and we could still stay up
But we just can't score lads and we always concede at least one goal
So the best we can hope for is a 1-1 draw? Might have a tenner on it

Re: Two,two the Lillywhite boys.....
Top goal scorer at the club is Buckley with 4 who started on the bench last game.
We will huff and puff our way to a lucky 0-0.

Re: Two,two the Lillywhite boys.....
We haven't beaten them since that day in Cardiff. And there's a pattern: draw away, lose at home.
2015/16: 0-0 a, then 1-2 h
2017/18: 0-0 a, then 1-3 h
2018/19: 2-2 a, then...?
...and in both those home games, we went in front before capitulating. So maybe we'll get a goal. Possibly about three minutes before they do.
(Line-up for that first home loss, btw: Paul Rachubka, Lawrie Wilson, Derik Osede, Rob Holding, Dean Moxey, Mark Davies, Liam Feeney, Darren Pratley, Liam Trotter, Zach Clough, Gary Madine. Discuss among yourselves how many of that relegation-bound XI would improve our current lot.)
2015/16: 0-0 a, then 1-2 h
2017/18: 0-0 a, then 1-3 h
2018/19: 2-2 a, then...?
...and in both those home games, we went in front before capitulating. So maybe we'll get a goal. Possibly about three minutes before they do.

Holding, Mavies, Nadine and Clough/Feeney. Maybe. But the rest are god-awful.

Pratley and Trotter? Pretty debatable but certainly better options than we have on the bench. Clough - bench at best.
Racubka? No.
Wilson? No.
Derik? No.
Moxey? vs Grounds? Hmmmm...
So 4 in. 2/3 squad. 3/4 not in.
That team overall taking the whole view was better than what we field now. But clearly its about balance. Our back four now is way way better. But Madine pisses all over any striker we have....whats more important?
Re: Two,two the Lillywhite boys.....
Right now it would appear to be goals. Not just for the sake of staying up, but also for giving the fans something to cheerBWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Fri Feb 08, 2019 3:38 pmMadine, Holding, Mark Davies, and Feeney walk into this team.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Fri Feb 08, 2019 3:02 pmWe haven't beaten them since that day in Cardiff. Mate of mine just pointed out Vela's kid was born almost exactly 9 months after Aaron Wilbrahimovic's last minute winner.

Re: Two,two the Lillywhite boys.....
A couple of N.S.S's that can't be argued with.....
Losing is not an option.
A draw will possibly leave the pitchforks in the barn but is little use right now.
Damage limitation is as out as flares and kipper ties. If we don't attack, we can't score.
We need to win and to do that we need to score, and we won't do that sitting in our half
and hoping for miracles and playing crossbar challenge from the halfway line..
Did anybody watch Brighton beat West Brom in the cup? The Israeli N0 7, Beram Kayal was quietly hands down M.O.T.M. He was everywhere, found spaces, wanted the ball and used it really well; the sort of role that I thought Oztumer was supposed to play for us? Problem is/has been, unless it works immediately, Parky tends to change the team and see it as a failure. Surely with Sammi and Oz playing half decent and two strikers up front we can score a goal (not being greedy) snd we won't do it with our defence playing head tennis and wallop ball. Go forth and ....score.....if we don't, hello Division One.
Told you it was N.S.S stuff....

Re: Two,two the Lillywhite boys.....
According to stats posted by Dave Sutton's Barnet, Ozt has plays more key passes than anyone else. But clearly PP doesn't fancy the lad. However, injuries might yet bring him back into the fold at some point.TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Fri Feb 08, 2019 11:57 pmA couple of N.S.S's that can't be argued with.....
