So, In a Taipei bar last week with Lever End and this song comes on. Shazam-ed it and now can't stop listening to it.
Chill out and listen

After his death, I've bought Scott 4. Never heard it. Looking forward to being 'surprised'.
It arrives next week.

Re: What are you playing tonight?
Put Scott 4 on last night just as the missus was pulling her line caught free range organic fish fingers out of the oven (I'd just done my two minute steak to perfection).Lost Leopard Spot wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2019 4:07 pmAfter his death, I've bought Scott 4. Half way through track one she shouted through "YOU CAN TURN THAT SHIT OFF TOO..."
He's not been dead ten minutes...

Well, one thing I won't be playing anymore is the Sausage Sandwich Game on Saturday mornings.
My favourite broadcaster EVER sacked for a rather silly Twot.
For the record, brown sauce. No question.

Re: What are you playing tonight?
His reaction as much as anything got him sacked I think.
I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, and he's always seemed a top guy, so I believe him that he hadn't made the connection.
But once it's pointed out to him...
If he'd responded with "oh Jesus f*ck I hadn't even realised, that wasn't what i was getting at at all, total brain fart, sorry, deleted" I think he'd have been fine (he'd still have got shit from some quarters but think he'd have kept his job).
Instead it was one of those weird defensive apologies where he attacked those criticising the tweet (he didn't notice the connotations as he doesn't have a "diseased mind").
Think social media must make it tough in the public eye because it happens so quickly. You send a tweet, 5 mins later there's uproar and you're on the back foot and naturally defensive. I'm sure with a bit of time he'd have reacted better.

There is one sure way to avoid posting regrettable tweets.

Re: What are you playing tonight?
Indeed there is. I'm somewhat alarmed though that a guy whose intelligent wit I generally revel in, and have done since he founded 606, might not have made the connection here.

My first thought when I heard the story was that it sounded like a 'just left the pub at 2:00am' thing but I have no idea what time it was posted.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Thu May 09, 2019 1:31 pmIndeed there is. Frightened Rabbit. And raising a glass to Scott's family. A year since he sadly died. What an album The Midnight Organ Flight is.

Sure hope the person who made the "allegation" realises what their moment of fame could unleash both in outrage and cost. "Police Specialist investigators"....?CrazyHorse wrote: ↑Sat May 11, 2019 9:17 amDanny Baker is being investigated by the police now.

He's being "investigated" in the sense some idiot has reported it and they're following protocol. It'll be reet.
