A 17 page thread on 'other footy'. No wonder it's 10 years old. In fairness several posters expressed sympathy for the Pompey supporters but were incredulous at the economic madness. Thank God football learnt it's lesson

Any chance of a fans group taking over, like we did at pompey?

Because we ain't got the £millions to run a football club.

Yep, if we had £50m to lose, knocking around between us, be right in there - a worthy glorious gamble.
1st up sort those directors seats out : no obv. screens, plusher seating, pork scratchings, class(y).

Erm... that's not strictly true is it.

What did the land around Portsmouth go for? £1.2million. How many fans submitted £50k towards a £1.5 million fund. 2,000 fans all pledging £1000 each. You still had £9 million in parachute payments used to pay creditors.

All in you had £13.7 million to sort it to get 51% of the club. We were at £15k at the last count.

Gut feeling says you’ll be ok, you’re a big club and that in itself says you’ll survive. Might take a few seasons, like it did pompey, but you’ll turn this around.
We were reportedly 10 minutes from ceasing to exist so i know how it feels.
Look forward to our two games next season.
Good luck

I’m not even 100% sure we made anything off the land as I thought Gaydamak had first dibs on any money made from selling it.

"We" wouldn't make anything off the land - "we're" not Pompey.
