Re: The athletics/running thread
Just seen this. Took dog out for an early morning romp over to Matlock but I'm now back in Cromford. There are a bunch of elderly women all gabbing away, one in my seat, so they've beaten you to it .Burnden Paddock wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 9:42 pmDon't forget to race through Matlock on your Harley, then puff on your e-cig in the pub, whilst sitting in Spotty's favourite seat!LeverEnd wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 9:08 pmCamping over your way tomorrow Spotty at the Duke William in Matlock. If you're in the Greyhound at Cromford before four o'clock (or let me know what time Saturday) I'll buy you a pint (no fxcking ecigs though) - I'll be the bloke with the laid back collie with big ears (the collie, not me).
I had no idea the Duke of William had camping. Watch out for those church bells if you're still asleep Sunday morning - the feckers have been practicing since D-Day and still can't clang a tune together.

She'd be fine in the Bakewell parkrun then... Not a molehill in sight, takes place along an old railway line, now a hiking and cycling trail. Flatter than a flat thing.Burnden Paddock wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2019 12:59 pmThat AND the hills!Gooner Girl wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2019 11:56 amMore the fact that it’s 9am on a Saturday morning tbf.Burnden Paddock wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 11:52 pmMy Parkrun aversion to rain is a myth, started by and perpetuated by LE.Gooner Girl wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 11:19 pmI’ve heard there’s rain forecast Bolton on Saturday so no park run for you Bond.Burnden Paddock wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 9:42 pmDon't forget to race through Matlock on your Harley, then puff on your e-cig in the pub, whilst sitting in Spotty's favourite seat!LeverEnd wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2019 9:08 pmCamping over your way tomorrow Spotty at the Duke William in Matlock. I was all set to do Bakewell parkrun last year, but too much beer and wine on the Friday night put paid to that!Lost Leopard Spot wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2019 1:03 pmShe'd be fine in the Bakewell parkrun then... Sounds like my kind of park run. If I didn’t run 5k in such an embarrassing time these daysLost Leopard Spot wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2019 1:03 pmShe'd be fine in the Bakewell parkrun then... You could try Stretford up here. The elevation in metres/km is -2/0/0/0/1. I reckon even you could handle that!Gooner Girl wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2019 1:24 pmSounds like my kind of park run. I'm in the Duke Wellington now waiting for my girlfriend. We'll be off across the peak District back towards Bolton otherwise I'd have been up for that pint.

It was a bit moist. Mud all up the back of my wanderers away top. No big puddles though.

Lucky you! My long jump run way was one big puddle tonight! I’ve never been so wet at an athletics match. It absolutely pelted it down this evening. All the chip shops were shut on the way home too!

Re: The athletics/running thread
Given my pre parkrun meal was Mansfield dark ale and a large pork pie, I have nothing to contribute on the nutrition front.
