"Ken being gone" might be consolation on the internet - but come a cold November evening at the Macron at home to Fleetwood or "shudder" Tranmere with Bolton firmly bottom of league one and fielding mainly a team of under prepared kids - it won't be consolation to me sitting there with 7 thousand or so others watching the crazy corner scream for Parky's head as we watch out a dull 0-0.
Do you think that wouldn't have happened with Ken?
Of course not. We needed this step. But we needed in in February time to let us sort it out - and try to rebuild. We're now doing admin over the summer. Its not a good place to be. Better than with Ken hanging around but then of course we still need his co-operation.
Didn't Anderson say that with hindsight he wouldn't have entertained Bassini? Which would have allowed us to go Admin for "this season" rather than next? His call and his call alone. We were all sat here going "No fcuking chance" and we're not really close to it.

Blame lies with Anderson's judgement.
I don't believe all that sorry I made a mistake with Bassini bullshit. He knew what Bassini was all about. I'm convinced it was all a tactic and part of his exit plan to spread the blame and blur the truth when difficult questions are asked.
It's far worse than poor judgement in my view. He'd burn the club down for an extra quid.

As for him being gone, he's not. This brings us closer to that happening but he's still in a position to cause further damage. He's the turd that won't flush.

But it's a sunny day and I'm not at work .... :oyea:

What I’m presenting is a best case scenario. Unless you are living in cloud cuckoo land.
So the best-case scenario is "a cold November evening at the Macron at home to Fleetwood or "shudder" Tranmere with Bolton firmly bottom of league one and fielding mainly a team of under prepared kids [...] me sitting there with 7 thousand or so others watching the crazy corner scream for Parky's head as we watch out a dull 0-0"?

I'm not sure what the opposite of cloud cuckoo land is, but... well, let's say perhaps it's possible that there's a middle ground.

I'm not sure on that. I think he probably suspected Bassini was a buffoon and certainly not a good man to take the club forward but frankly, wasn't that bothered as long as ol' Laughable Loz wrote a cashable cheque.

Because in reality - we're starting on -12. With about 6 first team players signed on. And in administration.

Absolute best case is a new owner rocks up towards the end of June - but that would be really best case. And then that owner has loads of money and quickly sorts out the manager, tickets, staff, and players and by mid July we're in full recruitment mode (under embargo of course) picking up frees and loans.

But you don't have to see things dragging on for just a little longer for that scenario to become very very different.

Isn't "best case" an absolute in itself? If it's not the best case, there is a better one - which you've just presented.

So the thing you said was best case, isn't.

So internet binary, some folks. :-)

Especially as BWFC_nutter himself on the previous page stated: "Plenty seem to think its plain sailing now".

That's what I call best case.

There's not even anything else to have a middle ground between! Literally no-one has suggested it's all going to be plain sailing.

Next year is going to be tough, without a doubt. But Ken needed to go, and not with Laurence. Admin is a bad option, but they're all bad options now, and admin looks to be the least worst.

For a number of months now:

Good outcome: Having the ability to sit in a cold, mostly empty Unibol in November watching a miserable goalless draw with Fleetwood/Tranmere etc

Bad outcome: Wondering if one should get involved in the formation of Bolton2019NewCo FC whilst considering the possibility of applying to join NW Counties L2, whilst wondering whether Bolton council might allow a temporary stand on Leverhulme Park, whilst hoping something bad happens to KA's new yacht that he has just christened "LOL Northern Suckers".

Brighton did several years at the Withdean and look at them now, Chris Hughton's sacking notwithstanding.
