Just seen Bancroft's Edge to Root. Great catch by Root, but Bancroft's is one of those shots that annoy the bejeezus out of me when it's one of our batters who gets out by out playing it. It's an absolute nothing shot. Just leave the fecking thing alone. It isn't a run scoring shot and the only likely outcome is that you'll edge it behind.

Yeah - he was a bit drawn in to it on a decentish line. Not sure what the umpire was watching when he gave it not out. That's three in the first 90 minutes they've called wrong (and I can sort of understand a couple of them)...Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2019 12:25 pmJust seen Bancroft's Edge to Root. Indeed. To be fair I haven't seen the hawkeye from Warner's LB which was going down, but it looked absolutely plumb to me. Serves the cheating c*nt right for not walking after the first ball, mindWorthy4England wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2019 12:28 pmYeah - he was a bit drawn in to it on a decentish line. Easy to say from here, but without the benefit of hawkeye, Broad is coming round so would need to straighten it, he's out of his crease and whilst it pitches at off, point of interception is at best middle/middle and leg - poor decision - but we'll have it. I'd have been well up for it had I bowled it!Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2019 12:36 pmIndeed. Just hope we don't lose by 2!
Re: my wanting to pick a team with no spinner in, I wonder how much of it was subconsciously not wanting to listen to Bairstow chipping away. Shut the f*ck up man.

Is Stokes bowling like a cock? What's going on?

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
Been Harmison-esque at times. Testing the very limits of "wide" but getting away with it. One so far down leg they wouldn't have got it with two bats that Bairstow did well to stop one handed.

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
83-1 in an Ashes test match against Oz might normally be nothing untoward. I reckon we've got the early edge if we can just keep the scoring down and be patient. Getting Smith would be a real boon though....

Damn....TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Tue Jul 30, 2019 10:00 pmPerish the thought for I love him dearly as a class act, but is Jimmy A fully recovered from that "low grade muscle tear" he picked up a couple of weeks ago? Was that in the selectors' minds when picking the squad? Maybe I'd hold Archer back till we see what we see when we light the bonfire. Just a thought.

Good start!
Johnny is allowed to review as keeper just not batting.
Umpires having a shocker.
That's Warnerx2, Khawaja, Smith and Wade they've got wrong.
