Wheater leaving means one of three things, in my opinion.

1. Either he doubts the takeover will happen soon, or happen at all.

2. He's been offered a better contract than the one we've offered.

3. He's been told that he won't be offered a contract at our club.

I think 2 is the most likely, but that 1 is more likely than 3.
Nobody has offered anybody a contract at BWFC for at least eight weeks.
He doubts the takeover will happen. He's quite astute really.

I'm sure conversations would've taken place regarding a contract being signed post-takeover.

Politic has been paid, according to the BEN.

The Bolton News understands the Whites have paid in full the overdue wages to rising star Dennis Politic, meaning the club is now able to command a fee for the winger, should rumoured interest from other clubs turn into a firm offer for the 19-year-old.

So Keith Cousins, on an inflated sum reported to be £30,000 a month has not offered our senior player a contract, or if he has it was a derisory one. We all need to stand up and applaud David Rubin & Partners for their vision and go-gettedness. Clap clap clap clap.
Or, Wheater has finally seen the future...
Either fxcking way, it's not good.

Isn’t it likely to be an actuarial decision? Even if given a professional contract Politic is probably on no more than like £250 a week, so a one-year contract (for example) would cost £13,000 but potentially bring in much more in development / transfer fee. Whereas Wheater might be on, I dunno, call it five grand which is a quarter of a million a year.

Worrying about Wheater (does anyone else’s iPhone autocorrect that to Shearer by the way!?) as he’d have almost certainly been one of those who would have been lined up to come in immediately. As it is he’s probably seen we’re on the eve of the season and that offer hasn’t been forthcoming. He can’t wait for ever.

As for the rest of the chat, Never Say Minge Again

I'm not ITK or owt, but rumour has it that a deal has now formally been agreed for FV to purchase the club with a formal announcement expected in the morning & the players will be paid.

Iles reporting

"A break from the holidaying to relay some positive news. Folk close to the deal say sale is due to be completed tomorrow, including the payment of players. After several false dawns, I'm almost ready to believe"... #bwfc
