Photographs in the Bolton News

Post by nicholaldo » Sat Aug 10, 2019 9:20 am

The Bolton News has released a brilliant set of photographs this morning of supporters during the early nineties (link to be found HERE).

Can anyone spot themselves?

That red and navy blue away shirt might be my all-time favourite.

There's a young Laurence Bassini in no. 27.
Às armas, às armas!
Sobre a terra, sobre o mar,
Às armas, às armas!
Pela Pátria lutar!
Contra os canhões marchar, marchar!

Can’t find me - at least not on my phone - but I’ve spotted a couple of mates on one, including me old Tripe n Trotters co-editor Davey.

The lad in the white Budweiser shirt in the town centre pub is my son (stepson actually, but has been for 40 years now, so) . He's been in California for 10 years now and supports Green Bay Packers American football team, silly lad... :D

Photo number 41. The bloke with his face covered by the clenched fist, looks like my grandad's mate Macca. Depends on the year the photo was taken. If it was before 88 it won't be him, because they always stood next to each other, and my grandad's not in that photo.

Headline is “Bolton Wanderers fan pictures taken between 1989 and 1995”

Ahhh, that's probably Macca then. I lost touch with him after my grandad died, and I've no idea if he himself's still alive. (his surname is highly unusual, and he used to get right royally pissed off if people spelt it wrong - McCorquodale).
