Zouma is great but the lad he was playing alongside is better imho. Looked like a senior pro. Edwards isn’t it?

19 fouls and two yellow cards; they're professionals already... :D

Come on Shazza, I know you said you'd give the shirt off your back, but no need for that!

So many questions.
Will the takeover be completed beforehand?
Can we have any more new registrations?
Will the nickname Monty Zouma stick?
Where will Magennisgate be at?
Will our loyal home supporters turn out in their massed thousands?
Will the season ticket holders be there? [sorry, what, what do you mean there are no season tickets  ]
Will we score?
Will the result push us off the bottom of the table?
So, to answer my own questions in the opening post:

3. Will the nickname Monty Zouma stick? - nope
Only been one game. Bit early to answer that one.
Ok, I'll give it another week... :)

I like the look of Zouma but he does scare me when he's in possession. Near the end, he had a chance to just boot it but he faffed around and passed it straight to Coventry and I literally said 'Zouma scares me when he's on the ball' just before he did that lol

I also liked the look of the lad at LB and Brockbank. Darcy looks like he could be decent too if he buffs up a bit.

£115 a week -- thats what some of those lads are earning
(according to a nice lady on facebook who claims that two of them are living in digs with her mum)

Fantastic to see players who are proud to wear our shirt - at long last

They want to play football. That's all they want right now and it's fantastic to see. :pissed:

I'm changing the way I think about us. Get rid of Parky and his team, install either David Lee or a manager known for bringing through kids, and sign a few experienced players. All assuming we actually survive of course.

That way big chance we sell one or two for decent money, and smaller wage bill, and it seems no worse off quality wise.

Get rid of those who have refused to play today, with a leaving bonus of the middle finger in their face.
What’s wrong with Gav McCann? Seems to know what he’s doing.
Let's just sort out the takeover and get rid of Bassini first.

Then let's see what the future brings.

I think we owe Mr Parkinson a debt of gratitude as he and his staff are all working for nothing.

He’s been outstanding Parky. Out bloody standing. His words today spot on. I doubt he will stay and clearly we need someone to nurture these players.

As Parky says the dickheads holding up this deal the Ken’s, Eddie Davies Trust, and Bassinis of this world now need to feck off for good. None give a shit about this great club but all are harming it.
What makes you doubt he'll stay btw ?

Depends on situation. But I can’t really see him fancying a relegation fight here again and must be jaded with it all now.

I’m not crying, you’re crying

Some speech by Parky

That’s for the staff that one. And the lads and their families who just dream to play football for Bolton.

The lads had to send a message today. We have done our bit. Throughout the pre-season the staff have come in unpaid. We had Ben Williams taking the goalkeepers today – he hasn’t been paid, hasn’t got a contract, but keeps coming in.

We have organised pre-season professionally, brought players in on trial, played friendlies behind closed doors.

The lads came in today and did exceptionally. Nicky Spooner and Gav McCann deserve a lot of credit for what they have done and their preparation with the team.

But now it’s down to the people behind the scenes to do their bit. No more messing about.

Get your heads together quickly and sort this mess out because everybody is absolutely sick and tired of it.

Mr Bassini, leave us alone. Please, just leave us alone. Leave this great club alone to get on with rebuilding its future, putting it back together.

That’s my message – as a staff, right the way through, people have done their bit. Now whether it’s administrators, new people buying the club, trustees, old owners of the club, whoever it is, come on, get yourself sorted and out of this mess quickly.

The lads have done us proud today. What a day, what an experience. The crowd cheered every pass, every tackle, everything. I said to them beforehand that they were never going to get a better day to make their debut because the crowd was going to be right behind them all the way.

I think they responded to the crowd, and they responded to the players in equal measures.

It’s an uplifting day for us, the staff, the players and the club. I am very pleased with the desire of the players to embrace the occasion.

We were obviously concerned because Coventry are one of the teams fancied to be in the top six, they weren’t far off last year and have just signed Matt Godden, who is a good player.

There were some big performances. Our keeper was excellent – some of the saves he made were first class. Yes, the linesman helped us out, but I think today we deserved that.

congrats to our boys living the dream. And it appears we have an early front-runner for Linesman of the Year (the least lauded event on the sporting calendar).

That team! Those boys! That performance!

Didn't think I could be any more proud of a Bolton Wanderers side as I was last Saturday night, but those boys topped it today and then some! I've never been so happy with a goalless draw at home.

I don't really want to talk about those that refused to play today, as the spotlight should be on the youngsters. That said, those cowards can go feck themselves!
This - absolutely unbelievable to get a point, so proud of those young lads - young heroes every one of them.

However, I do want to talk about the 5 first team shit houses they should be ashamed of themselves & none of them should ever play again for the club.

Ordered my ticket Friday evening and it was probably the most nerve wrecking twenty quid I ever spent.
What I witnessed was a Bolton team not seen in many a season, effort and total commitment and a desire to fight until the end. I also witnessed a group of young lads struggling against a strong Coventry side who sure bullied our lads all afternoon, probably a game plan of theirs.
Despite having little of the possession they fought for every ball but, that side can't keep that up week in week out. Whilst it provided a great atmosphere from the fans a few older players along side would probably make this team hard to beat. Lets hope this take over gets through sooner than later so we can bring in a few more experienced players in.
Last bet least, I have given Parkinson stick in the past put one has to admire his attitude during this mess and his interview sent out a strong message to the potential owners and of course, Mr Bassini.

Parky’s message wasn’t aimed at the potential new owners.....he’s a good man who knows the score.
