Let us pray it is Swords into Ploughshares: H v Ipswich 24.08.19
It's getting fractious.
However according to the official calendar this Saturday sees Bolton v Ipswich and Tranmere v Bury. How long will that continue? Will the EFL really allow us just to wheel out the yoof against the Tractor Boys at our own whim, or will we still want to rest them, or will the EFL pull the match anyway. And will Bury still be in existence?
The seed is falling on stony ground.
And who the fxck is going to buy tickets for this anyway????

I really can't see either game being on.
We should know more in about 48 hours I reckon. I suspect though that the EFL aren't quite as flexible with their 48 hours as our administrators have been.
2-1 win

Interesting how confident everyone was that a team who managed to be worse than us last season would bounce straight back from their first lower-division season since before Lennon met McCartney. Obviously it's the least of our worries but I suspect we'll grow to hate/fear former Trampmere goal-grabber Norwood, and we might struggle up the other end: in their first two league games they restricted Burton and Sunderland to one accurate attempt each, although they needed an injury-time equaliser to grab a point at their fenland friends Peterborough.

All things being normal, I would be coming up for this.
Given the reasoning for the Doncaster postponement i.e. dangerous for the kids to play too many games in a short space of time, then the week long rest should mean this game is on. We have proven we can host games, we have a team. If it isn't, it would suggest FV are no longer prepared to underwrite the cost, and no one else is, which would suggest a further step into the abyss I feel...

Not sure it'll be wholly in our hands. Don't think the league will let us pick and choose which have we cancel. I imagine that could be it now until a takeover is completed or we're booted out.

Your logic is sound. But, however, I fear that 'the resting of the kids' was a mere aspect of a multifaceted meltdown. Parky, for example, was fuming: but not just about the restless kids, but also about his need to express venom regarding the situation. I think that one reason why 'we' didn't approach Doncaster and the EFL before pronouncement (not the only reason, but a major one) was to keep a quick and efficient lid on the volcano brewing within the Parkinson. So even if the game is pulled, it might just be in order to keep Parky on board...bristol_Wanderer3 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 3:08 pmAll things being normal, I would be coming up for this.

[However, personally speaking, I think it will be pulled because FV don't have the funds to outbid Boohoo and everybody now knows it].

Be very surprised if this game is played.
I’m not on my own I reckon - who is buying tickets before Friday/ Saturday morning?
Bury will be gone by then...how sad. A 23 team league is bollocks. EFL will want an even number...grim

Re: Let us pray it is Swords into Ploughshares: H v Ipswich 24.08.19
I'm absolutely astounded that the EFL are letting Saturday's game go ahead after Tuesdays postponement - the integrity of the League must surely now be seriously questioned - we cant use the excuse of welfare on Saturday as the kids will have had a week in between games so it will have to be played.
Re: Let us pray it is Swords into Ploughshares: H v Ipswich 24.08.19
There was a specific reason given for Tuesday's postponement which doesn't now apply given they've had a week off.
Just depends if the EFL stop it on the basis that Tranmere got a walkover and the integrity of competition has certainly been compromised. If I were the EFL I'd set a deadline for expulsion and postpone everything until there's been a takeover. It can't be allowed to drag on. And it will if it's allowed to. Or they let us limp on and sign some short term frees on the condition that FV lose bidder status and it's open season again.

I guess it's too late now, although obviously games have been pulled at shorter notice. But yes, I can certainly see the thinking if the EFL were to effectively suspend us, as they have Bury, with a deadline. Because this will keep happening.LeverEnd wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2019 8:20 amThere was a specific reason given for Tuesday's postponement which doesn't now apply given they've had a week off.

According to Betfair, we are 35/1 (thirty-five to one) to beat Ipswich!!
15/2 draw, 1/12 them.

Not yet. HG is awaiting official confirmation that it's on, before purchasing ours.
